Awakening's story, I think, is even worse than either of Fates' because it's so unfocused. It starts with the Lucina mystery. Then we have Plegia. Yeah I can certainly see that the plot was unfocused as all hell, but it was kind of enjoyable as a lot of stories are point A to point B, "this is the bad guy and we win when we kill him". It was a bit nice having the story sway a bunch of different directions.

It's pretty neat how they included a bunch of skills from the other games in it, and there's a bunch of silliness like being able to promote Brighton into one of those Centaur things and BOLT AXE as a recurring boss.

I loved the fun factor of it all and the customization. I don't think there's ever been a more free-form and mindlessly enjoyable game in the series. And while it comes at the cost of balance, the amount of fun drawn from it more than makes up for that.

I also just really liked the characters overall. Not my favorite cast, but the shepherds just generally felt like a lively and active bunch of people. I don't think there's even one character in this game that I don't like.

The music and art direction is great too. Some of the costume/class designs look amazing and the score for certain tracks like Id~Purpose are just marvelous, absolutely marvelous.

Honestly I could just gush on and on about why I love Awakening so much but then it'd probably drag.

I didn't really like the whole S-support system, but I did like how it was a way to have some control over the child units' stats and classes. I'd like to see something like that, where you could basically adjust your units, without it being tied to the whole parent-child time travel stuff.

I have to be more careful in Fates because that game is designed to be difficult even with Reclassing. With Awakening I can just sit back, get comfy, and watch as my units become literal one man armies. I enjoyed the game alot. I really liked the story, sure it fell flat alot but I've seen worse stories in my life that this didn't phase me that much. I liked character customization, and I think if they keep the avatar system they should stay as a grandmaster/Tactician. I also loved the spotpass and DLC, I could easily run the game with a makeshift SS cast if I wanted too, or any of my favorite units throughout the series

Awakening isn't flawless, no game is. but god damn it was fun.

I really liked using the Einherjar like generic characters, after I finished with supports I pretty much spent my main file building up a team with them with the skills and classes I wanted. Fates doesn't really make that as fun to do, though I did like being able to capture bosses and generics with interesting combinations of skills and high weapon/staff ranks.

I don't know about others but personally I consider this the first somewhat difficult map of the game; it is the first one where you encounter Status Staves and Siege tomes en masse, and nearly everything is promoted with good stats

This is the first chapter where all the Pure Waters I bought will begin to come in handy

Prep; since Lowen is pretty much out of time to train, I decide to promote him now

He's not exactly great, but it's all he'll be able to get (Bartre was leeching off of kills that would have gone to him otherwise)

Since I never levelled Eliwood or Lyn (since both suck), I will be going to Lloyd's version of the map

Lloyd's is preferable, since you can complete it more quickly than Linus's since Lloyd starts pretty close to our current position

It actually felt like a really difficult chapter, I'm still kind of surprised I beat it on first go. I pretty much just hung out at the start baiting and picking off the pegasus reinforcements until they stopped pouring in. Sophie, Solel, Epo9, and Velour all had beast killer weaponry so they died pretty easy it was just a matter of making sure no unit was in range that would get one shot. After that it was mostly patience making a steady advance because there were a ton of other reinforcement triggers (I'm not sure what a lot of them were but there were tons so take it slow). The dragon vein can counteract hinoka's if she uses it at a shitty time to kill her fliers' movement and let your ground forces move in and clean up safely. Also blew 3 turns just letting shitty units eat Asama's bullshit spell so no one important got neutered. Bosses were actually the easier part of this stage all things considered.

If a shitter like me can do it I'm sure you anons can.
