I think they're trying to make the controls accessible for ps4 controllers. If demon flip was a dp motion, you'd have to press 2 kicks for EX, since using the 3 kicks button would give you the teleport. Pressing 2 kicks/punches on a controller is hard to get consistently.

Played a ranked match with Juri to see how she works. No reaper icon.
When I tried playing in casual matches as Akuma it gave me the disconnect error 5 times while trying to find a match. Then when I finally found a match against a Vega we both had the reaper icon and now I'm stuck with it.

Make a hard read and EX headbutt on wakeup. If they look like they're gonna block it try walk forward throw on your wakeup. If they hold back on your wakeup, sweep.

cr.mk or s.mk when they whiff something. st.hk to antiair crossup attempts, cr.hp into heavy shoulder tackle for midscreen jump ins, f.mp for far jump ins. These three anti air buttons are now godlike.

If someone is walking forward and mashing buttons, whiff punish with st.mk or f.mp, f.mp can also catch jump startup but if it whiffs they get a free jump in combo so you gotta be precise with it. If they're crouching, you have to immediately stop using f.mp as a pressure tool.

Throw one of those out every so often in midscreen, but never more then one, and never at the same time. Learn to avoid your own tells, I was getting blown up once because the opponent recognised that I would always walk backwards to a specific distance on the screen before I threw a fireball. Recognizing that shit and then using it to bait jump ins is how you turn their damage into your damage.

Could play with a hue lag free and I think I played against a hue for the first time. I think they improved the netcode though the matchmaking is slow as fuck at the moment with lots of disconnects.
