If you're starting from scratch, I'd suggest making a new account and joining the Fresh Start hype while there's still people levelling and doing mentor/mentee quests.
I believe there's still land available in Rohkala (east) and Ahnimar (west). If you want a fast levelling experience, go Dwarf. If you don't care how quickly you level and want gilda stars, legacy races are better than new ones.
If you want to RP as the Hulk or She Hulk go Warborn.

Scissors didn't quite fit.These classes are the third alternative when picking main specs (mage, melee, healer, archer) that are a 'sometimes food' of classes. Not always called for, but would still be specced for reasons here and there.

Only exception I guess here would be Revenenant which is commonly used in large raid pvp.

To play on Reckoning or Vengeance you'll need to register an entire new account.
Large organized guilds are starting to pull ahead of the rest but that's a given in any MMO.

If you have patron on Legacy accounts still, just play on whatever character you have there.
Check the Glyph store for any freebies Trino may have tossed at you while trying to drag your ass back to the game in previous months.

Questing is literally labor free gold. At level 30 you can get 40s per quest from overachieving. Roookborne has it at just shy of 1g each.

Jailbait isn't a purely /vg/ guild either, they've recruited people from Legacy and from the FS server, but it doesn't matter as long as everyone gets along.

It's pretty mediocre in PvE. Half of your skills are barely any use in close combat, and all your damage comes from the battlerage tree. If you get surprised by a group of mobs, you can disable/ shut them down and deal with them one on one but it's not going to be very quick and you'll blow through your mana bar doing so. Unless you spec into aggro generating skills at the expense of your witchcraft tree, you're going to be a pretty shit tank too.

Used to play this forever ago, got the trailblazer pack and played before it officially launched. Even had myself a boat before f2p players could even log in, all by myself I might add (Lots of epic theft)

What's better to start with, vitalism or sorcery and what builds going off of those are good for healing/casting?

This coming from a person whose played EQ, Earth and Beyond, WAR, WoW, Wildstar, and etc. mmos.

Mostly EQ. Tera was bleh on the endgame and was pretty blatant which crowd it cared about including balance. Really, REALLY did not like Blade and Soul's combat or everything really, including the slathered in Vaseline models.

With Cleric you have the best aoe healing and are superb for massive Raid vs Raid pvp.

With Templar, you are much tankier and your allies don't have to worry about babysitting you while PvPing in smallscale encounters.

It's a much better experience than those games at the end game. I've played for a few years and always keep coming back because the end game really is about PVP.

There's ship-to-ship pirating, racing to turn in packs and hoping you don't get ganked, castle sieges, tons of world pvp events. The game is really nothing like WoW or those other MMOs when it comes to the end game. It's really the best sandbox game on the market,even with the flaws of Trion running it.

at this point unfortunately no, I would look in areas for secondary gains like:
Do you want to be near the ocean?
Look at the Commerce tab for specialty packs to see what each region can offer for trade runs

After you pick a zone just run over the housing areas, some of them are larger than what the map says so you might get lucky and find a corner not grabbed yet.

Only sort-of. Leveling alt classes is easier than the first time as the amount of experience scales with character level instead of tree level. Thus a lvl 55 character with lvl 1 trees will still get lvl 55 experience.

It does slow down. Are you doing the main quest (green one)? Use the gildas you get from that to buy apex and then you can start leveling with crafting/packs etc. You can also do dailies dungeons where Sharp Mines/Palace Cellar gives you 20k exp each, Hadir Farm/Burnt Castle gives 40k each, Howling Abyss/Krolola Cradle gives 60k each.
Also, the minimun exp from woorld boss is 40k, and you can kill them at any lv.

If you're level 30 or over, and can do the rift quests, GR (Grimghast Rift) and CR (Crimson Rift) are in Cinderstone (west) and Ynystere (east). Lib is for Ayanad Library, in Diamond Shores, a lv 50+ levelling instance.
WB is for world boss kills, generally prestige and exp necessary.

I used to enjoy playing a Daggerspell as my main. It uses sorcery, shadow play and witchcraft. You are very squishy but most of your skills are based around using snares and stuns to keep them from being able to do anything back while dishing out lots of damage. Its also quite fun to be able to use stealth to sneak around and bubble to escape from a bad encounter or even the odds in one. It is for 1v1 PvP, not very good in group fights unless you are fighting with people in voice chat that will listen to you. Otherwise you stun someone and an ally hits them and breaks the stun right away. If your allies listen to you it can work well in larger scale PvP at times.

As I said though I used to main it, haven't played in a long time and I chose to be a Darkrunner this time around, wanted to be up close, so lots may have changed about the class.

Are the Glyph login servers down? I keep getting an error 2024 when trying to login to glyph. Restarted both it and my computer to no avail. Internet still works fine of course.

The Real Reason for the Emergency Patch. BAKA.

If you were wondering what the emergency maintenance patch was this morning, that Trion has been so quiet about, I am going to tell you what it was for, because they most certainly wont want to release another incredible screw up they managed to pull off.

After playing this game for 2 years, it's seriously disappointing to say that Trion has allowed the Apex Mirage Isle Dupe for a 2nd time. Even after knowing about it from the original launch, they somehow managed to allow it to work AGAIN, and completely kill the economy.

Over the course of the past week and a half, hundreds of millions of credits, if not over 1 billion credits have been successfully duplicated and converted into items, with the help of a small group of players. These items include thousands of yellow regrades, superior yellow regrades, green regrades, blue regrades, expansion scrolls, crest trade pack storages, etc.
This resulted in the distribution of items which will be sitting on accounts that will be kept very quiet for a long time, as well as the crafting of multiple pieces of high-end gear that have since moved to multiple people.

Trion's complete and utter lack of competency has ruined an absolutely amazing game, first by giving players who were able to log in an extremely unfair advantage, and then by allowing a game breaking exploit to be used for a week and a half.

I seriously hope that players who are still a part of this game, take into consideration everything that Trion has done thus far since the launch of the game, and will stop supporting this company until better service is acheived.

Please screenshot this and show it to people while you can, I am sure this account will be banned very quickly.

Let me clear shit up for you. 2 days ago I got fed up with not being able to play at all, got stuck at level 0 then got dc'd and fucked by the queue so I shelled out for patron. I rolled a dwarf and only saw 5 people from 1-30 in the dwarf starting area (past noon EST). Even for patrons the queue takes ages past noon; if you try to queue past 4pm you aren't getting in unless you get really lucky. Only way I've been getting into Reckoning is logging in at 7am with 100 in queue (takes a minute or two to get in) and just staying online for the entire day. The only difference between Fresh start and Legacy is the economy, gearscore, and the fact that you can actually play. So if you plan on playing and want to level up as the players progress in gear and whatnot on the fresh start servers, I suggest you shell out for one month of patron to beat the queue and keep it up with apex, otherwise just play singleplayer until endgame on legacy. Everyone I see in game is a patron anyways so just take it as b2p since 95g for one apex is really easy to get.
