Ok so after having replayed D2 I got some fun out of it but I also noticed a shitload of stupid game design flaws that sort of ruined it a bit for me. So I'm thinking about trying median xl since it seems ot be the most popular mod and i'm guessing it fixes plenty of stuff.

also Grief's damage, while a huge step above like any unique in the game, is still really disappointing compared to say a naked blizz sorc with 90% of synergies maxed.

Choas. Started with Mausoleum, Ancient Tunnels, LK, Pindle. Once I got a Wiz Spike and a CTA I could start doing Chaos reliably. This is on a blizz sorc btw. She skips all the Cold Immunes, even in Chaos. This means she doesn't spawn Diablo but I don't care its the Stormcasters that are the Rune factories. She could spawn and kill Diablo by letting her Merc kill the CI's but it really slows her down and I want to keep her kill speed up. The most expensive gear she wears is probably a Shako, thats key because I don't want to lose good things when the account is inevitably closed.

Ive done the grind before. It was great. I always wondered how people got Enigma and wanted to see if I could do it. Apparently the answer is you just do Chaos Sanctuary ad infinitum. Thats what I did on my hammerdin a couple of seasons ago.

But I don't want to just run solo Chaos Sanctuary I want to play a lot with groups which has actually been possible this season through the communities popping up around twitch streamers but I also want to have things and I couldn't derp around with groups and be farming runes efficiently and getting rich.

Had to play around with them a bit but, she only uses Glacial Spike, never Ice Blast because she needs all the CC she can get. She's set to prioritize weaker foes because she would teleport into De Seis and get gibbed and that makes it so she stays back and kill the minions before ultimately ignoring De Seis because hes always CI. I did have dodged turned on at first but she hasn't needed it since she got Wiz Spike.

does anyone know what causes poison to massively bug out sometimes?
i have 75% resist and most of the time i don't take any poison damage at all, but just now a random anubis thing in wsk poisoned me for massive damage, i went to town and decided to wait and see how long it would linger and how much damage it would do.
i used up all my health potions and it did like 5k+ before i ran out. have been poisoned for like 5 minutes and it didn't stop.

Barbs tend to be gear dependent. If gear isn't a problem then it can be fun. I'd say assassin is the most fun class. They've got good crowd control and have some pretty strong builds. Not gear dependent like Barbs.

Trap and kicker are the most popular pvm builds. Can even do a bit of both.

Drognan from Act 2. You can start buying them at level 24, thats the best time because you won't be able to use them yet so they'll be shaded red and it just saves a lot of time looking for one. Beyond that you have to read every single one of the staffs to find one. Reset the map until you have an act 2 with the exit right near Drognan and just run out and run back in to reset his inventory.

I think as a jav id settle for 160 on both str and dex the rest into vita and the usually abandoned energy stays condemned as usual, respecing is your best friend should you find the optimal gear for you ja that you wont change for a long time, and given that you can increase both dex and stat until all stats remove th red flash to maximize vit

btw on the note of D2, what is the use of min max damage charms ? I mean it just ads small amounts of damage per charm and might not be worth at all better for res charms or mf

That is a lot of strength for a character without end game gear though thats why I would start with a Rhyme boneshield so you'll only need 60 to 70 strength until you respec.

Ik barbs are fun. I still plan on making one. If you socket your items right and play it right it is viable. You really shouldn't have a problem surviving if you maxed battle orders and dont play stupid.

Although if you like horking and being an asset to your party maybe singer is the build for you. You will chug mana pots like there's no tomorrow. I like using dual wiz spikes. They've got everything you need. Damage shouldn't be a concern since you're in a party. Your job would be stun, battle cry if no other curses are present, and bo/shout. Youre an ideal partner for smiters when it comes to uber trist. Bo him and then just howl everything away. Youll probably have it maxed becsuse its a synergy. You can use dual ali babas or gulls on switch for your horking. I personally use a singer for gold finding and will eventually have him be my gambler. I load him up with gold find gear and just to travel. I want to have a shot at high runes so I'm going to gear it for less gold find and more survivability.

I've got another build in mind for nihlathak. Similar to the singer in that howl is a big part of the concept. He will be a berserker than has a shit ton of pdr so the snakes don't touch him and slain monsters rest in peace somewhere on both him and his merc. The merc will also have a buttload of pdr. Lawbringer is probably the best option. I'm only mentioning this idea to you because it seems like you're one to actually play the game and not just bot and/or just get ridiculously geared characters.

Tldr: Ik is worth a try, consider singer (not with ik though)

I rolled a frenzy barb at ladder reset and managed to walk through the entire game solo while trading garbage I found for upgrades but goodluck doing that now if you don't use d2jewsp, or what I did, grind nightmare for 30+ hours to find a decent item
With that said, barbarians are fucking shit and a waste of time unless you have the autism to grind it out, and even then they're fuckin' shit compared to the other classes in shit gear .
If you can get past all that, it is very satisfying to go from worthless shit to mediocre. Also, find item is pretty nice to have with 2x alibaba or alibaba + spirit/hoto on swap for extra loot chances with minion/champion/elite/unique mobs.
