perhaps it would be better if the entire surrounding area was blurred rather than having vignette, but imo the issue can't be changed with visual tweaks. The DMR rule sounds like a better deal, and would certainly give players a trade-off with their playstyles, while giving the other sights a chance to shine on automatic rifles/SMG's.

It's not an effect meant to emulate realism.
The whole point of the effect is to make Acogs less viable as all-around sights, and more focused on holding angles or peeking precise areas rather than being fine for quick CQB reaction shots too.
I don't know if there's a way to do this without it being clunky, ugly, or just no longer fun for Acog users (which I actually do care about, I'm not anti-acog by any means) but I still wish there was more balance between them all.
If they won't do any of this, I'd at least like some more variety in 2.5x sights like I said last thread.

I've never seen matchmaking be so fucked up than before tonight. Every match I've been matched with the bottom of the barrel copper/bronze shitters and very low levels, while I'm the only high level (and decent) player on the team. On the upside the other team is usually the same kind of makeup, except one or two average players.

The things I've seen tonight:

Plenty of people using controllers
Defenders not contesting the objective in time
Reinforcing kids room on House
People not knowing what their operator does
People ignoring callouts or requests for breaching/gadgets
Nobody roaming ever
Nobody spawnpeeking ever

I'm now a firm believer that the new casual hidden MMR is not working as it's intended. I think I somehow ended up in the shitter pools despite carrying every single game, which is even stranger as I play casual almost exclusively and should have a low uncertainty to where I should be. The previous system based on clearance level was much better than this.

In many places they're either 99% guaranteed kills or at least offer peace of mind/loud warning that someone's creeping up on your flank

For example, attacking 2F Bedroom of Oregon is fucking suicidal without a claymore placed by the 1F Office (small tower) door. If you don't have a claymore there, you need to dedicate a player to be watching that hallway fulltime for flanks which is a huge waste, or just plain risk getting aced by a roamer.

Nah.
A great part about Siege is that you instantly know what the enemy character is capable off the second you spot them.
If you kill their Thermite/Hibana then you know they can't breach that metal wall behind you anymore so you can relax about being flanked suddenly and having to reposition.
It also gives you an easier time creating a proper team composition. You instantly know what your team mates are capable of doing by seeing the operator they picked.
Otherwise you'd have to check what gadgets everyone is carrying and if anyone brought some brimstone or not.

Adding gameplay depth to things always makes them harder to balance. Balancing around destruction potential is hard, but I don't think anyone would be happier if that feature was reduced or removed. It's better to have an interesting game with more balance issues than a boring one that's technically completely balanced.

Am I the only one who sticks up for people who are told by the rest of the team they suck? Just got out of a ranked match where 2 teamates ganged up on our bottom fragger who really wasn't doing anything wrong, he just choked at the second round of overtime. It's genuinely not too bad.
I was apprehensive at first and I think a lot of the talents need adjustments, but I really like the map changes and I think they certainly allow for more of a strategic game but adding more objectives that you must decide which are important to defend. It's very much a supports patch and it feels like they did a lot to make more heroes viable - even if some are a little off right now.
Most of the new UI is shit though. I like the features they added but the league 2.0 layout is aids.

Castle can be played as any role, it depends on your team composition - arguably he's skewed more towards lurking/point defense though, as he can start to lock himself and his mates in when time is close to running out.

yeah, I think its mostly because it uses a really sandy looking yellow as a base color
doesnt look good on guns
actually all the other 3 have too much yellow/light brown on them, both colors that I cant stand
though ryuko (the one with the tiger and dragon motif) is very cool too and a close second to aki no tsuru in my opinion

from what I can tell the mp5sd is the same as the normal MP5 except suppressed, the recoil used to be pretty erratic but all SMGs got buffed in 5.2 and it's more controllable now
