4 was the one i enjoyed actually fighting in most, but i did miss having stuff to do beyond playing onine/the crappy tower in the older games.
everything felt good and natural in sc and while in most fighters i struggle to find even one char i like and sometimes can't i liked playing basically everyone in sc to some degree

How can I improve my offense in Tekken, or any fighter for that matter?

I can understand punishing, movement, frames, but these lead me to play with a "wait for them to make a mistake" mentality rather than creating opportunities for them to make mistakes, you know what I mean? How do I get good at poking and offense?

you can play defensive in neutral and apply it to your offense. that's just being a patient player. getting good at poking is getting good at conditioning and instilling fear, which is not that easy given how strong turtling is in tekken.

you also can't be discouraged when you get launched or severely punished for trying to get information: that's the risk you're taking. but if you keep your offense compact and effective in a general sense (safe in terms of frames, not a lot of holes, gives you concrete pieces of info for little perceived risk), then it will pay off.

I'll forever be mad for what they did to what should have been an absolute fucking slam dunk of a game. SF was gaining ground as a whole. Pro tour were actuallly pulling people in, new game coming out that could have eased new people in while retaining the growing fanbase. All the fucking had to do was ship a retail product with full features and a solid content schedule. Even if SFV is balls to play currently(signs point to it being better in 24 hours) it absolutely could have pulled a SF4 and built upon itself to make a fantastic game.

They had every chance to knock it out of the park, one platform for all future update, good character selection for new and old, fairly slick looking game(lol ken) and on a platform(s) that have a huge install-base.

SFV goes beyond this system and has one platform, if anything it can bounce back harder than most fighting games because people who bought it this year can still play it next without throwing down more money.

It took SF4 about 6 years to be a decent game. Until then it was in the same situation SFV is, except without the tournament scene or popularity of twitch.
