Queen Serpent is so awful. The idea is nice but it's a turn 7 4/4 + 2/2 that requires you to play Neptune off-curve on turn 8 if you want any value.

It should've been a 6 cost for 4/4 + 2/2 unconditional Megalorca so you can curve into Nep. Dragon has a theme of slightly overtuned vanilla followers, and it would've fit perfectly.

Explain me exactly how a card like Merlin is even remotely balanced with 2 draws, that is even semi controllable with multi spellboost as a 4/3 evolved 4pp

No what it has is completely bullshit overstatted cards to absurd degrees. They're way, WAY too good at their job. Cards like Floral, Alwida's, Otohime, and Sage Commander are absurdly overstatted, meaning Sword just shits out so much value that other decks have trouble keeping up, and because of Otohime board clears aren't as effective as they should be.

You could say the same about Forest.
Every other class's cards gets understatted to hell and back to compensate for their additional effects but Forest gets a shitton of overtuned cards that are vanilla stats at worst and become hugely overpowered when played with the class's incredibly straightforward "gimmick" that rewards you for simply playing cards.

Mid sword wants to establish early board presence and pressure, you want to hit your t1 play most of the time. run both.

Cynthia is worse than Sage Commander in most situations except for her dumb evolve effect. She only buffs followers who can already attack and only gives them +1 attack. Yeah if she survives she ends up being better in the long run but if she survives you basically won anyway. Now keep in mind I'm not saying Cynthia is bad; Cynthia is insanely powerful. But think of how absurd that makes Sage Commander. You just plop him down and get fucking stupid amounts of value.
Because a 6pp card that gives everything, not just officers like any sane designer would do, in play +1/+1 forever should DEFINITELY be a fucking 4/6 on top of that.
