Tanks actually have like 20% of their engine power locked away, 20% of terrain passability, turret traverse, gun elevation, gun accuracy, etc.

They're definitely playable once you have Parts/FPE/best ammo. Fighters are almost good out of the gate if intrinsically shittier than they should be, but attackers/bombers are hell.

Playing as Mid Tier Burgers against Mid Tier Russians is the most infuriating thing I've ever done repeatedly.

At least when my M4A2 gets stuck in with tigers I know where I can and can't penetrate. At least with KVs I know that a shot that should penetrate probably will, and the turrets have nice flat spots where you can wipe out the gunners.

The T-34s are the most irritating thing I've ever come across. Without fail, shots that do penetrate somehow bounce off of internal geometry and do nothing to the crew, fail to penetrate at all even from the flank, or just get eaten at point blank by the mysterious black hole reactive armor that appears on t34s and nowhere else, not even tanks with similarly built turrets like IS tanks. This is on the turret, I've learned not to bother with the hull because that shit is fucking forged magic.

The Sherman is my waifu but going against those faggy piles of junk makes me reflexively itch for the Panzer 4, which while being an ugly pile of crap, at least doesn't have its shots eaten since their penetration is so high.

Talk to me about the P-47N, /wtg/. How does it fly? From what I could see, aside from outdiving and outspeeding the P-47Ds it also climbs and accelerates better than it, which actually seems to be contribute to its overall maneuverability and energy-fighting characteristics.
Last night I was flying my La-9 and jumped on a P-47N, however it stayed surprisingly competitive against my La-9 in a prolonged dogfight. Despite him initially being at a disadvantage as he had lower energy than me, fucker almost got the upper hand a few times.

I hate to say it, but sometimes I like the Arcade 3-lane style with newer maps because it's easier to memorize where to go and not go.

Open maps are fine, but Kursk is plagued by AI bots that shoot with pinpoint accuracy from 3km away even with the AA MGs while ignoring their own AI enemies. The also constantly throw a 1d100 to see if they ammo rack you for no fucking reason.

Charioteer is a complicated tank. Amazing reload, great forwards speed and traverse. I've had great games with it but not many, the 3 crew, no reverse speed and awful gun depression kills it for me.

At 6.3 though being able to escape the 6.7 black hole every other game does make it worth to use. Along with the Centurion at 6.3.

Caernarvon is actually better than the Centurion in every way. Better acceleration and it can reach its top speed much easier than you would with a Centurion. It also has a better reverse speed and armor than the Centurion. The only advantages you get with the Centurion is that its at 6.3 and you can end up in the 5.3-5.7 BR matches.

You can honestly safely skip the Caernarvon although if you choose to get it then its a pretty solid Tank and since they lowered the repair cost its actually not a money sink to use anymore.
