here's the thing, structurally this game doesn't reward taking your time to kill everything or open every locker or even explore the level (with very few exceptions that stand out against the usual flow of the game and are just poorly implemented efforts at reducing the rate at which people complete mission for meaningful rewards with shiny distractions), and part of that is that the mobility afforded in this game is almost unlike anything else and allows people to quickly complete a mission for the primary reward without wasting time on secondary objectives, so there are really just two modes of play if you want to be efficient: camp in one spot and kill everything as fast as possible or as sustainably as possible for endless mission rotation rewards and enemy drops/xp, or rush from start to end killing with AoE along the way or ignoring enemies entirely and finishing the objective

if the game was structured differently, slow or methodic play and putting care into your decisions might be a viable or rewarding alternative or even something that people would want to do in groups, but the core gameplay loop simply does not allow for that; to make it worse, anything that reduces the grind is identified as abusive/exploitative as far as the devs are concerned and will be nerfed, so the few alternative options we have had over the years have been nerfed into the ground and reinforced the badly thought out core gameplay loop (which is quite literally designed to be slow or frustrating enough that you get a f2p conversion but doesn't consider the longterm health of the game or the impacts on the overall flow of player progression and access to or motivation to engage in content)

don't let the small little distractions like ayatan stars and lockers and shit fool you, you are almost always wasting your time - some like to play solo for that different experience and roleplay a space ninja, but it's nothing more delusional hope for a game's wasted potential

Overall Vacuum is good because it gives Carrier an ammo mutation but there was a huge shitstorm to get it to this point (they wanted to split Vacuum into 3 mods, then when it dropped range was cut in half)
