Honestly, yes. If this is your first time playing, you'll have tons of content, the class storylines are decent, if not a bit boring for a couple of them, so are the planet storylines the first time you run them.
Now if you're looking for a full-fledged MMO you might be disappointed, the group content is boring and gets old really fast.

Nar Shaddaa sells it as long as you have a social rank of 2, which means you'll be grinding a lot of group content flashpoints. It's going to be slow going and hellish.

On the other hand, if you set up a security key, you can get access to the security key vendor which sells dancer sets that are basically rehashed slave sets and don't require anything. This is going to be your best bet.

You can also find higher quality sets on the GTN to buy from other players.

Getting social 2 now is really easy. Especially once you first hit fleet. Just use the looking for group for flashpoints and you will do the first one. Do that a few times (and if you use the social boost buff it can be done even faster).

Strongholds are great for creating a place to show off to your friends and impress people coming over for ERP.

The capital ship is guild only and IMHO not worth the massive cost.

Decorations with a view. You can also have all the utilities like GTN, personal/legacy cargo holds, mail, etc that you can get on fleet/ship, too.

The only real perk is unlimited teleports to them, which from there you have a taxi switch that allows you to go to the planet they're on or the fleet, so you can bypass ship travel charges and cooldowns on fleet passes.

Because the Empire was made with a regular Joe mindset. These are people being people, this and that are cool, ambitions, hardships and emotions are more realistic, etc etc.

The Republic was made under a more utopian mindset. They adhere so heavily to their holier than thou ideals that it becomes unrealistic and sort of corners creative thought. Dark choices break character and come off as unnecessarily edgy, even as far as the Smuggler is concerned. They're so singularly set as the good guys that all relatability and depth goes out the window.

I meant the feel of the overall story. Korriban is one little planet with muh sekret club. The Sith may pretend to run everything but ultimately they're about as important as the British royal family. The non-force users are the only ones actually keeping the Empire running. Outside of that little hierarchy that sounds like a vapid cult in a typical horror gore game, you actually deal with the rest of the world(galaxy) and interact with normal people.

The Jedi and Sith have always been extremists caught in their only little struggles. Honestly, how much would change in the power struggle if the two groups disappeared? When it's fleet against fleet, operative against operative and army against army contributing to the bulk of the war efforts?

If you're queued for something and then outlevel it, will you still be able to get in or is the queue bugged then?

Unlike the British royal family, the Sith usually have the power to easily kill on their own whoever they want, sometimes with their mere thoughts, and almost without any repercussions whatsoever, in fact this is seen as a "strength" within their group. They can pretty much do whatever they please and still be revered by the "normal" people out of pure fear and not out of genuine respect, for the most part at least.

The Empire in this game, and that's "regular" people included, is presented as outright evil/villainous, there are no shades or gray except for a few exceptions that are so out of the norm they are seen and treated as precisely that.

And don't get me wrong, the Republic sits on the opposite side of the spectrum and it's equally laughable in that regard.

In the end, at least end for me, it's all a matter of style/aesthetics/gameplay, and that's why I gravitate toward republic and/or non-force classes/stories.
Also, I guess I can stand "corny" better than I can stand "edgy".

in USA / North America most crowded server is Harbinger. The only problem with that server is a lot of disconnects, lag and downtime. For some reason that is the only server that gets FUBAR a lot. Plus the people there are ASSHOLES.

So I recommend if you want a server with much nicer people I would look at The Ebon Hawk.

In Europe the most popular server is The Red Eclipse. They also have a lot of the sluts that post here.

Sure, they can do all that, but what does it really accomplish? They come in, they throw a tantrum, cogs fall in place and shit goes on like usual. The point is that they want something and everyone else figures out a way to do it. Imperial Intelligence acquiesces to the whims of the Sith but ultimately just work around it to complete their goals. The Sith think they lead as generals but its really their high ranking officers that sort out the details and coordinate the tactics to accomplish those vague desires. They're what you might call puppet kings; they sit on their thrones, toss around orders, but it's the guy in the shadows pulling the strings and making the pieces fall in place. Not unlike real world leaders sometimes.

As far as the Empire goes, I meant it as a sweeping statement. Not just agents looking to go up in ranks by doing horrendous things, the thugs and crime bosses in shitty districts in Hutt territory, but also the normal citizens that live day to day under it.

I mean, you wouldn't call Vette evil in any sense of the word. Pierce is loyal and a decent guy compared to Vik. Talos is a simple archaeologist. Mandalorians may be seen as evil but their mindset isn't a malicious one. There are typical soldiers who are decent people too, just looking to help out and some even become defects.

Sure you can look at the face of the empire and point out its mascots in every festering corner, but it's still a place where people are just trying to get by. Many willingly live under its banner, many believe in its ideals without being evil. On the outside it may look like some fascist shit because of the heavy-handed militia patrolling the streets and the oppressing speeches by the Sith lords, but do we really know the ground level politics for a typical family? Benefits for those nine-to-fivers working at supermarkets or pushing pencils?

You'd think there'd be a mass exodus fleeing to the Republic if it was really so bad for the average Joe.

Most of my characters have set uniforms from the start. Knight was the exception since I wanted him to be the main.
Finish Tython, he now has a big scar on his left face plus bionic eyes. Finish Nar Shaddaa (the Power Guard storyline) and he now uses an adapted suit of armor. Get shat on by Emperor, use different, red sabers until getting old ones working again. "Final" battle with Emperor and every boss henceforth, switch from powered suit to Rakata robes, fitting of the Battlemaster.
For storyline sections where going under the radar is imperative, just use some smuggler clothes plus a giant pair of sunglasses.
