I was already disappointed with how short the holo dancer stayed up and I actually paid for that.

Not even daily, there was this "bug" since 5.0 release where you can pick them up again from the fleet terminal right after completion, I don't think they bothered fixing it last update because I didn't notice anything in the patch notes regarding this, but not really sure, maybe they turned it into dailies as you said.
If it's the "bug" they said it's not considered an "exploit" so you can "abuse" it if you want, my guess is they might end up leaving it like that or turning them into dailies because of galactic command.
