Personally I'm just sick of hearing about 'ship sales' or 'new concept ship' referred to as content. They still haven't even done like half the ships (Most of which are massive) and the oldest ones are/need to be reworked, and the ones they introduce don't even fully work yet.

New ships are cool, but I'm not excited at the "offer" to pay them another $135 for a ship that's not more than a drawing.

Also, with all these promised features, ships alone aren't enough anymore.
Where is the economy, the professions, the new zones/cities, the landing sequences, the cargo, the animations, the planets, the working ship interiors, the mining, the complex destruction sequences, the dynamic interior destruction, the dynamic ship repair...

I'm not expecting these features to be done, I'm not even expecting them all to be worked on right now, but I want to SEE some progress, some clips of working in progress that aren't scripted to all hell, even a buggy graybox/wireframe whatever would be cool.

I still have hopes for the game, and I'm well aware that it takes time, but going for months and months with "It's coming", "Weeks, not months!" isn't enough.

All ships are missing features especially in the damage system, multicrew won't truly open up tell item 2.0.

I do agree it is frustrating especially with no word on 3.0 from the live stream. The good news is CIG should start being open about 3.0 once 2.6 hits live.

Not that guy but, it's the longest ship so far but I'd say it's smaller than the Starfarer in interior space. The caterpillar feels quite cramped in the main body, large enough to move around but it's still no large open areas. The Starfarer has a lot of empty space imo.

I love the caterpillar though, the layout and cargo hold is nice as hell.

Maybe there's a better way to phrase it but Space Engineer isn't made to be as immersive than SC is meant to be. You are right it's intricate as it's very complex, but not in the way SC is.
Ship building for SE is a limitation because the developer have to predict ahead of time of possible way for players to minmax the ship, as a result you can't have the arbitrary role balance that SC will have.

It don't mean that Space Engineer isn't good, but it isn't comparable to Star Citizen.

The Sabre actually has retro thruster effects now. The lack of those has been annoying me ever since they put it in the game and apparently nobody at CIG even noticed. At one point I met Paul in Crusader and told him about it, now it's fixed. Feels good.

Well the Caterpillar was somewhat smaller in concept but that was mostly in length so it hasn't changed much. It doesn't feel oversized inside though, if anything it's slightly cramped in my opinion.

The Starfarer is the ship that feels oversized, there is so much wasted space.

Well to be fair the weapons' intended environment is an in-game simulation of UEE Marines vs. Takticool Outlaws. It's not necessarily representative of the type of stuff people would be using in the PU. Have they even sold anything bigger than a handgun for UEC/Cash? Somehow I get the feeling we're not going to be seeing all this fully automatic hardware in the PU all the time.

I hope they handle gun laws and availability on a system-by-system basis. Frontier worlds and would barely notice anything short of full tactical gear and an LMG. Independent or shady settlements wouldn't blink an eye at a PDW and some medium armor, and so on until you get to places like Terra and Earth that heavily regulate the possession and use of weapons outside of your ship.

You can probably get everything done yourself though a friend wouldn't hurt. 4 is supposed to be optimal, but in combat you could use 5 or 6. 2 to man the turrets, 1 for the merlin, the pilot, and a copilot. I don't get the short-range/long-range dynamic as it stands/is planned for the future.

So there's a Quantum Drive, and a Jump Engine, and these are two different things correct? And the QD is for cruising around within a system, and a jump drive is for jumping between systems?

I'm disappointed myself that Jump isn't a special feature anymore, but I guess it's that or they would have to program a system of ferry so players aren't all forced to fly in medium ship.

So far the balance seem to be that fighter need to sacrifice some "slot" to add the Jump and will certainly use more fuel, which could suffice if it's a great advantage for a ship to be able to back and forth in a single system without loosing time to refuel (and assuming there's place to refuel).

Well ships are suppose to persistent, if you park your ship on a station and fly away with your mates ship, you either had to go back and grab the ship, or pay for it to be transported to where you currently are. Beds were (Or still are, I'm not sure) suppose to let you "park" you ship in the middle of nowhere so you could log off, there have been a bunch of different information on this though, during the kickstarted phase they said it'd simply drift in space until you logged back on, then it was said autopilot would take it to the nearest port, and now it seems that your ship simply disappears while you're logged off.

There have been a couple of times where I've unloaded an entire clip into people, only for them to not only not die, but kill me somehow. I've also been killed by someone instantly as they round a corner. I'm in the same boat, my ping is anywhere from 40-50. God damn is it frustrating.

They also desperately need the stamina mechanic implemented. If you want to actually compete right now, you basically need to be sprinting all the time. Except the game clearly isn't designed for you to be sprinting constantly because as soon as you try to move to the side, you slow to a crawl. Actually, that's kind of annoying in and of itself. The base movement speed seems cripplingly slow. If you round a corner to find something you don't want to see, you can't pop back quickly. Your only option is to slowly walk back while getting filled with bullets. It just doesn't feel nice to play.

The thing is a lot of the ships are even done with freelancer artists, the Prowler had the majority of the work done by a freelance artist, they don't have to pay people to make more ships. They don't even have half of the ships fully done yet, and most of the ships left are fucking massive.

I've enjoyed his art from the beginning, as well as the rest of his concept art in general; it has an aesthetic (organically) that appeals to me.

I can understand your gripes with his perspective as a skill, but what I can't understand is the compulsion to critique the art for the sole purpose of proving someone else 'wrong'.

If that statement sounds confusing to you, it's because attempting to explain the psyche behind /scg/'s shitposting is a therapeutic adventure in of itself.

Penultimately: Elijah was an asset to CIG, removing him was a mistake, his concept art was a valuable addition to the team and the overall style of star citizen has suffered as the result of his absence.

I get that space should be silent. But it just doesn't feel good to play. Try playing literally any competitive shooter, but mute your audio. Or take off your headphones and put them on the desk. It might be fun in limited amounts, but literally over half the level is depressurized.

And honestly I'm not even sure it's just the muffled noises that feel like shit. Everything about the sound design feels off. Sounds feel like they lack location, even in pressurized areas, and it's extremely hard to judge how far away noises are.

At least the guns handle well.

The F-22 has stealth and weapons system advantage from being newer, but underneath that, the two are fairly close. Also the Block 52 F-16 was released in 91, so 25 years old, not 42.

I fought off 3 people simultaneously in the PU in my sabre, no not because of some shield bug, but because these hornet shitters literally can't aim to save their life, and they only know how to joust. They accelerate at full speed towards you, and they don't care that they are being hit, they turn around and do the same thing coming back. And you know what? I hardly ever get hit, and I hit them. And what makes it even better is I don't use gimbals either.

I think you need to get good, tbqh. There's nothing stopping you from hitting people with those shotgun weapons or even mass drivers. Just practice.

Star Marine would be pretty fun if the TTK was lowered dramatically. Like I said earlier, the TTK is a mess. Sometimes you kill/get killed in an instant, other times you can fill someone/be filled with bullets and they/you don't die. I'm not 100% sure why this is, but it feels really bad because of the player's level of maneuverability. The game is designed to be slow and tactical, but that doesn't mix well with high TTK. You wind up playing run 'n' gun with controls/mechanics not designed for that type of gameplay.

If they lowered the TTK (taking a bullet should be bad, 2 or 3 shots should kill you in light armor, no questions asked), it would slow people down, force them to actually be tactical, and it would improve the feel of the game a lot.

And as others have said, the lag compensation is absolutely fucking horrible. It might be a contributing factor to the strange TTK inconsistencies.

I like the changes to the flight model for dogfighting and general flight. They're absolutely horrible for racing, though. I forced myself to do a couple dozen laps, telling myself I'd enjoy it once I got used to the changes, but it's just bad. It's really difficult to control your speed, and boost is literally useless now. I seriously thought boost was broken at first.

Its a ship that (currently) is best gimballed, to take advantage of the Tigerstreik, Longswords (raw dps) or M3As (sustainable fire) on the wings.

The deal with size is if you want a gimballed gun, that means you have to go down one size. So you can have size 2 guns fixed on an m50 for instance, or size one guns gimballed. Different classes of hardpoint just mean hardpoints that are for guns, or missiles, or turrets I think.

deceleration time is dangerously long for basically any ship that isnt the khartu-al.

top half of any given ships speeds are basically uncontrollable until you decelerate. all flight in general is basically "heavier", the intertia felt when trying to change direction is massive.

flying in reverse or doing a 180 real quick is not a viable thing period

been pretty satisfied just mastering the new flight for the ships i own and figuring out which weapons are OP for 2.6

pyroburst on every possible slot is going to be the meta build, period, I can say that now with utmost confidence. it currently cannot hit targets in any online mode though as a bug.

What tends to happen after your first pass is, you draw them into a joust and you both circle each other as you try to outrun him as he tries to outrun you and you both run out of fuel. There are two things to try that work well for me.

The sucker move is to complete stop during the second merge, spin in place, and wear that motherfucker out as he turns a nice pretty arc in front of you. Don't stay stopped, or you're a sitting duck. Also, if you begin to stop too early, your opponent can stop too, then you just shoot each other.

The only other thing you can do with someone who continues to joust with you is put your best turn vector against him and hope he doesn't know his ship as well as you know yours.

Gladius and Mustang
>Strong vertical strafe and pitch. Should use z axis when turning behind opponent.
>Weak lateral strafe and yaw. When fighting against, try to rotate your vector to keep it horizontal in their windscreen

Hornet
>Strong vertical strafe mid tier pitch rate, mid tier lateral and yaw. Still very flexible, strongest in the vertical.

I like SM, although it does feel a bit too twitchy. There are those perfect moments though, where both teams are trying to press forward dodging between cover, or you're taking on a few guys just by staying low.

I hope they'll make some battlefront 2 like maps, or missions in SQ42.

Just that it's not likely to get any major overhauls.

There will be more ship adjustments, I'm sure. Not to mention, we're only running on half the game right now. There's a LOT of factors that aren't in play, like energy systems, shield and hull strength being properly balanced, etc.

I have the science/hospital/hangar pods for Endeavor. Maybe park it border of safezone, use it hospital, or get the telescope ingame.

Since it will be easy to replace and sturdy as fuck, Im planning to fuck around with the Terrapin at the beginning, maybe carry it inside Endeavor along with a HullA.

Question is; Should I keep the Banu Jewman, or ccu it into a Carrack or Crucible after its price hike? or just sell it for monies?
