So how do they expect the new elephants to work? Are they going to be like some sort of expensive trash unit, that costs tons of wood and food to create but no gold in contrast with the persian elephants that cost gold but are cheaper overall?

Or are they going to have completely different stats and function to the persian elephants?

What if they can work like villagers in resource collection, basically like a slow villager that carries a lot?

Honestly the persians work fine even without the elephant. They have insane boom power and can churn out enormous trash armies in no time.
