AP always, unless the only thing you could possibly end up shooting next is a DD or a BB that refuses to expose his broadside.

With AP, the waterline in a position that your shots will typically land dead center. Citadel hits there can do tens of thousands of damage. With HE, aim for the superstructure above the armor belt.

Typically you want to be angled in a way that you can easily bring all your guns to bear on a target, then go back to being bow on while you're reloading. You don't necessarily want to be pointed directly at them either.

Also, the first American and Japanese battleships are total shit. The Germans start out alright. Keep that in mind that the ships get much better.

Our ST forums are livid (RU ones that is). I watch both the NA and RU forums and the RU ones usually are fine with their ST'ers, while the entitled American's seem to take huge umbridge with people getting boats a week or so early (that we dont keep). That said, even on the RU, there is outrage about the Alabama, mostly because its not a reskin, its a famous ship class, and its reasonably high tiered (if this was over say a T2, no one would care). They should allow it to be sold or immediately announce the second US BB line that's coming that will have the SD as a Tree ship.

So I took a peek into some of the PTS files.

Alabama actually has a second paint scheme in addition to the tentacles, it's the Measure 22 scheme she carried from 1943-1945. The color codes in the camouflages.xml file are identical to Missouri's second camo and the dds file is pretty similar to Missouri's too.

Why they aren't just selling the MS22 version and giving the supershitters an "Alabama ST" or some shit with both schemes is beyond me.

You can see them in the ship tree now, as far as how they play, they play like slightly better US DD's early tree and late tree slightly worse than US DD's. The armor "buff" does not matter. Go test one out in the training room. Side by side, using an Iowa, the Iowa and Miss can both be citpenned in the face at any angle over 35 degrees. I was not able to find a citpen on the Iowa I couldnt reproduce on the Miss. It is not more armored. And the Radar is worthless. It just is. At Tier 9 and 10 dd's DO NOT get that close to make it worth while, it doesnt spot torps, and desu I prefer the float plane cause at least it loiters for a lot longer. I would trade the Radar for Sonar instantly if I could.

Also, I got the Miss for free cause you know... ST? Even after buying it I still have a little over 400k Free XP knocking around. Imagine if you never spent a single free xp? That's where I am. To test the ships properly I can't just Free XP my way past stuff.

If you do the math, it's impossible for any calibre gun in the game, to bounce a shot on the Miss, that can't be bounced by an Iowa. Likewise any shot causes damage on an Iowa, will ALWAYS cause damage on the Miss. Test it yourself for data and do the math on the overmatch mechanic.

Not on the RU server. Most of ours are pretty great players. I think the requirements to be an ST is lower on the EU and NA server, or they want to use ST/CC's to produce movies and hype and stuff and as such their ability is not important. BTW that's probably why they ignore the EU and NA ST's. Whereas on the RU they listen to us, we dont make many shows or stuff but they listen and we alter gameplay.
