You can't play Forest on a budget, but Sword has a massive price range where you can play a competitive deck the day you start and pivot into more expensive builds are your own leisure.

Playing the game free is extremely easy. You never have to spend money to stay competitive, but it helps if you want to play a wide range of decks. You can easily complete 2 or 3 decks between every release though, playing casually.

GameAi's tier list is based mostly around tournament performance as I understand it. They have a match up rate chart but broken down, it doesn't match their own tier ranking in terms of success, so you're supposed to read it as "Tier 1 decks are the ones that win tournaments" rather than "Tier 1 decks are the ones that win games."

Despite Elana Seraph having great ladder win rates, its performance in the Rage Cup or the team invitational has actually been pretty poor. PtP and DS are pretty much near impossible. Seraph is pretty shitty too since you probably won't draw Odin while Bishop has a bunch of draw sources for everything. Makes sense for it to be tier 3 with two really bad matchups against two strong and popular tier 1 decks, while also having a bad matchup against a tier 2 one.

The only real difference is the otohime part. Right now it's 3-off no matter what in midrange, it could change in the future. I seriously think albert's a 2-off or 3-off in aggressive decks

I think I've reached the point where I now have 3 copies of every silver and bronze that I care about, but there are still some golds and legends that I'm missing (only have 1 seraph and 2 elana, also only have 1 liza and 1 tia, I don't play those decks at the moment but I might want to in the future).

At this point should I just stop buying DE packs and craft whatever remaining golds/leggos I need in the future?

I think everyone has been neglecting 1pp cards too much. The usual idort aims for the 2pp play, therefore would have nothing to really deal with the 1pp card. That stuff adds up and you would have done 4 face damage by turn 4.

If you want to play them, you either create an aggro deck for each of them (Blood's bat aggro is cheap as dirt and Dragon's needs 3 legendaries to work) right now or in a near future, or just wait and see if it gets better. Imp Lancers and Demonic Strike. Your version got dropped because it's extremely vulneravle to angelic barrage which people use against Elf, causing you to get caught in the crossfire.

Also Blood Pact is debatable but still usable if you want, I personally prefer Demonic Storm, though Medusas Gaze is also a fine choice.

There's also a version of the deck using Dark Generals instead of Imp Lancers, though Im not a fan.

That's more a problem with ramp in Shadowverse than in MTG. You can ramp much earlier in MTG, making it easier to force your opponent to waste removal on your mana dorks or your big guys. If you ramp properly you'll be able to kill them because even a control deck will run out of removal before you run out of big guys. Ramp is just too slow to be viable in Shadowverse.

They're a dead drop unless you're in vengeance, they're inefficient in dmg:pp for cards. They get shat on by wards. At that point I'd go for lucifers if you really want another storm cause if you're in vengeance, it's probably 6-7, and he's got the same dmg but a better statline and a vengeance effect that can (unlikely) save the game.

They're only useful if you're playing the "someone dies on turn 5" deck with all the flowerbeds.
