Currently making my way through Period Cube. Had to take care of some real life stuff so I didn't make much progress with Libera's route in the past few days.
That being said, Libera turned out much more likeable than expected. Thought he'd be more of a brat who constantly throws tantrums every time he doesn't get what he wants, but the times he does get upset are actually reasonable.

Just finished his route. The good end gave a significant hint for Shiki's motive, while the bad end raised a few questions regarding Kazuha. It's a good method to motivate the reader to do the other routes as well.
Just like Astrum's route bad end > good end. Story-wise it was overall a decent route, although the romance part was a bit lacking imo. Perhaps it's because Kazuha saw Libera as a girl for half of the story. But I enjoyed the interactions with the sub characters a lot, they're a fun bunch.

Next up is either Zain or Radius.

Just don't buy the shittiest and cheapest one. Don't use earbuds that came with your device. The sound's not great on those. You don't realize how much you're missing out until you've used better headphones.

And this is personal opinion, but don't get any headphones that advertise themselves too much for having an extra/boosted bass. It makes things sound artificial.

My current pair is the Sony MDR V6 (got for $50 on sale) and I would definitely recommend it. You can hear the sound effects and other subtle things, like small whimpers, a lot better. The downside is you can hear when things don't have consistent high quality, which is common in doujin CDs.

If you're anything like me, pick a pair that's comfortable and not too "lumpy" so that you can wear them while in bed or when laying on your side. Having the wire only on one side also makes things more comfortable. (Bluetooth/wireless headphones reportedly don't sound as good.)

If you happen to live alone or just don't give a shit about others hear, you can opt for "open" headphones. Supposedly they sound very natural and are good for sound localization (telling what direction a sound comes from). Catch is that the sound leaks so people might hear what you're listening to. I don't want people to hear my audio porn, so I don't have personal experience with them.

While Yumecast is the one I favored and dropped the others for. I hope we stay at two units. Not that I would immediately drop it if a pair or trio was added later on, but there's more intimacy with a smaller cast?

I don't know if I'm saying that right, but I was able to become attached more easily. Plus, the music is fantastic and I've been able to collect decent amount of SR and UR cards and goods that help make the grind doable.

Completed Radius' route. It's the best one out of the three I've played so far since both, story and romance, were well-balanced. This time, I enjoyed the good end as much as the bad end.
To be honest, Radius felt like such a generic otome character what's with his traumatic past and cold attitude, but I ended up liking him a lot anyway. He's really cute once he warms up.
The biggest surprise was when Hiroya locked Kazuha up. Being the filthy yandere lover that I am, I sure am looking forward to his bad end now. It's a pity the issue never gets resolved properly. But then again, the game always seems to leave some questions unanswered so it didn't come off as a surprise or huge disappointment.

The good news is that 口上 (and daily events) are often the easiest files to mod with a template and people typically keep making them long after the actual development has stopped.
In fact I'm a bit shocked that they didn't rush to write them all yet as in other fandoms. I wish they'd hurry and complete the existing kojo too, only Kogitsunemaru is really verbose.
I hope they're just waiting the end of the anime to get a better grasp of the characters or something.

It's just weird how the characters badmouth each other openly and fall for the mc so fast based on her texts. It makes them seem emotionally unstable. I started Reine des Fleurs, and it was enjoyable up to now. But I only just finished the first chapter.
The Ravir system reeks of lazyness in terms of scenario writing, but I got used to it relatively fast so I don't really have a problem with it.
But apparently it starts to get bad when the plot kicks in, so I'll keep my expectations very low.

The real-time system was simultaneously one of the most interesting aspects of the game and the main reason I got burned out on it once I finished my favorite routes. The events have beginner friendly maps, but the best rewards like drop-only event swords are usually on the hardest maps only.

To do well in a Regiment event, the player needs at least 2 to 4 full teams of mid to high level swords of various types, plus a healthy amount of koban saved up for extra passes.

Yes, after a few weeks or months they either show up again at another event, as boss drops on a new map, or smithable during a limited-time campaign. Exceptions are the Genji bros that ended up as the new KBC drops.

It's quite possible to train some decently strong teams during the actual event, so it's worth a shot if only for the resource friendly EXP and rewards like gold troops and tokens.

I finished Leon's Love + Loyalty ending as well as one bad ending. All spoilers are real spoilers, don't read them if you plan on playing this.

I had fun with it, but I can see why people don't like it, and it definitely has some faults.

The thing that bugged me the most was the fact that this is a story about the fate of a whole planet, decided by a young girl in love and her four knights.
And it's from a perspective where we never get to see the people living on the planet.

I personally enjoyed the way we got introduced to the world - with stories by each of the knights about their home country - but not ever seeing the people, not seeing the destruction that happens due to the decisions made makes sacrifices not feel as heavy as they are. Best example would be: The only thing we see as a whole country is being destroyed is the symbol of the country breaking.

Another thing that was handled a bit weird are the endings. The best ending is very questionable as it involves all four countries getting destroyed and only MC + Leon surviving.
The Loyalty ending is even more questionable, Leon sacrifices himself, MC gets brainwashed. The planet is temporarily saved?
The ending that seemed to be the best was one of the bad ones, in it Leon and MC sacrifice themselves to save the planet (permanently? I don't know.)
This is probably the thing most people didn't like about the game, and I can understand why. But it's also understandable why they made the best ending a bad ending as calling an ending where both MC and her love interest sacrifice themselves 'good' would be weird.
Honestly, the way this way written really hardly left space for an actually good, happy ending. I don't mind, but it is definitely kinda weird and I can see why people hate it.
But I still have to play all the other endings to really decide what I think about the way they handled this.

There were also a bunch of things I liked.
The romance was surprisingly sweet. I hope that it'll stay this way in other routes.
All characters were likable, especially the MC.
The Ravir system is great and easy. I reached the love ending on my first try without a guide. It's only annoying when replaying for other endings.
As expected the art, BGM, backgrounds, voice acting and system all are top tier and wonderful. I love the ED.

All in all, it wasn't even nearly as bad as I expected. I think it would've been a lot better if they just dropped the whole 'the world is near destruction and we can barely do anything to help it' and just made it a sweet story of a princess living happily with her princes, but I still enjoyed this route more than the one route of Amnesia that I played a while ago. But I do hate drama so maybe that's just personal preference.

Looks like Saori Hayami has been cast as Cardia in the C:R anime. I'm a bit skeptical but not the worst choice.

Not true, shitty games regularly get bad reviews and drop hard in price. Games still sell because great advertisement, preorder lures and seiyuu pigs, but I'm not sure how this is different to any other similar media.

Great generalisation, especially since we have a few companies where you can only wonder how they are still alive, see Matatabi.

It is definitely true that we get pretty much no kamige-tier releases, but I think that's just what happens when you're a small part of a genre.
It's just way easier to aim stuff mainly at males. Girls will buy it anyways if it's really good and famous, but hardly any guys would buy it if it was mainly targeted at females.
You can also expect a bigger budget when working for a bigger audience, and it's easier to get recognized.
And, well, really good stories don't grow on trees. It takes some tries as well as a good writer to get something really good, and if there are more games released in total, the chance of a top tier game getting made also rises.
