Dirty Rat is your friend v warcucks. Also you need to put on pressure which is where Reno Priest suffers, no pressure no burst really makes it hard for Priest. Regular Dragon Priest is probably better since you can apply pressure with a strong draw.

I'm actually doing shockingly well with a meme shaman ancestral spirit deck right now, just got to rank 3 tonight, although Reno Lock is great at playing big creatures its not that great at removing them so 4 mana 7/7 is a bit of a problem for them, especially one that summons another 7/7 when it dies.

I would say just mulligan for whatever your biggest minions are, throw back removal. You can't win by removing.

That's the price you pay for playing priest. Control warock is only defeated by decks with a lot of reach. There used to be hunter on the ladder and he made handlocks suffer, now there are only very occasional tempo mages and malyrogues, so handlocks are actually tier 1.

Observing the metashift is so entertaining.

Yeah, ideally if I can make it to the late game they shouldn't have an answer to both Ysera, Ragnaros, AND Deathwing, but it's pretty unfavored either way.

I'm mainly sticking with priest because it beats aggro pretty well and I face more of that than Warlock at rank 7

I might switch to Reno Mage if the warlocks become too much, but it doesn't do as well against aggression.

Van Cleef feels so underwhelming in this meta so I didn't out him in intentionally. Like every time I play him I dump my whole hand only for it to either get shadow word deathed or simply ignored by a smorc warrior with a 6/3 arcanite reaper. I know he is considered a staple in rogue decks but the meta dictates that I cut him.

Kobold is the mvp of the deck. I've pulled so many clutch lethals with him. Like thaurisann tick into maly+countergeit coin+kobold+2xSinister+prep+evis wich is 31 damage to the smug warlock right after he played Reno behind two fat taunts and knowing I already spent my two saps. He is also super good to pull from barnes.

Rag does feel kinda cluncky so I really might cut him for another fan.

Much cooler than the almost like "tempo miracle" deck people are playing now that just has leeroy and coldbloods, just doesn't feel like miracle to me when the combo is simple I mean there's no faceless, shadow steps, nothing just beat em down and leeroy + cold blood, lame and not miraculous at all. Maly miracle is the patrician miracle deck. One thing I've been wondering is could a maly miracle deck actually get use out of Madam Goya? Along with Barnes its yet another chance to cheese out an early auctioneer or malygos. Could be funny at least.

Also I'm sad the red mana wrym version isn't actually that good.

For your deck I'd say you probably don't need maly and rag and could probably use a second fan.

loe is the best expansion of all time, but it rotates (out of standard) in a few months when the spring expansion is released. Karazhan gives you some good stuff, and a lot more of it will probably be played in 2017 standard. They're both pretty good.

even though the latter is probably the better card since he fits anywhere, Malygos makes the deck revolve around him and feels more impactful overall

people don't only look at wr when crafting, it's also about flavor and how good the card feels to use. big impactful ones feel better than ones that are just a lot of value like thalnos

When you craft something, it's some time of work to build all that dust, then to finally get that lego you've worked hard for. You want it to be something flashy and cool with a "aw yiss" effect. Something like Ragnaros, Deathwing, Y'Shaarj, Yogg-Saron, or Kazakus.

Legendaries that are good, but not necessarily exciting are the ones you want to open. Patches, Harrison Jones, and Bloodmage Thalnos fall into this category. It never feels "right" to spend 1600 dust on a 1/1.

That is why it's best to try to build your collection with the classic packs first since they will always be in play, then move on to new adventures and expansions. That said I'm currently rank 3 with my meme deck. Maybe I'll make it to legend again, maybe I won't, it doesn't really matter. The important thing is I never feel the need to netdeck cancer to climb ranks.

Once you get that card back, it changes your life bro. You transcend the ladder and just play whatever you want each season. Also playing meme decks at rank 15 with the legend card back is fun especially when shitters add you to brag about beating a legend player.

Honestly hunter has some very strong minions but the early game of pirates is just so strong you can't win the early board and if you can't win the early board hunter is really bad at playing from behind.

This is really the only thing I don't like about this set, pirates give certain classes such ridiculous early game that it makes playing a non pirate aggressive deck basically impossible. Its pretty much play pirates your self, which restricts aggressive decks to classes with early weapons, or play a control deck and just accept that you will not have an early game and will have to come back with board clear later.

Thalnos is a Loot Hoarder and Kobold (card draw & spell power) combined for a measly two mana, when wouldn't you want that? It can be thrown into just about anything and be useful.

Leeroy is good at finishing an opponent off, but that's about it. He's bad in most decks but aggro.
Hell, some aggro decks don't even use him.

Anything that needs early board control but can't leverage pirates is basically unplayable, that's what saying.

And its really more because of small time buck not patches but they're both super cancer. Its a shame to because aside from those cards I think this is one the best sets they've ever released.

As for hunter though I will say that it might be playable with the right combination of traps, bear and explosive should be very strong v pirates and explosive can stop leeroy shenanigans if played at the right time. You can't win the early board as a hunter v pirates but maybe traps could put you back in the game later. Also bow would help you race.

It's a great card and a lot of fun to combo out, but at the moment rogue has a pretty hard time competing with all the aggro, even when you run a few pirates yourself. It's more or less a mulligan coinflip with you having the lesser chance to draw the nuts.
