Can't stand either, usually I like capture and hold modes like Hardpoint but it just doesn't work in this game and pilots vs pilots...it basically takes out half the reason I bought this game (Titans, I bought this game because I like robots and speedyness, mostly robots), and just makes it CoD but faster.

Play deathmatch. Or they play the objective but only sitting on the flag on both sides, so when you go to get the other flag you get shat on by three titans and a turret, or you can sit with your team while your three titans and a turret kill them as they try to get yours.

I feel like in the beginning I was fine with a lose here and there, but the more I play I realized I've gotten a lot more irritable while playing. Might be because the /tfg/ players I play with can get really fucking salty too sometimes and over the course of playing it stops being about having fun as it is winning because one or two people don't want their winrates to go down.
Obviously not saying I'm any better most of the time.

I think it's fun to play but be warned, 75% of matches are total one way stomps with no chance. The game is very predictable, after about one minute you can call most matches one way or the other.

That said it is fun to just zip around and shoot. Those 25% of games are worth it. The campaign is great too. I don't regret my purchase.

Why have any other titan even be in the game at that point when Tone is demonstrably more versatile than any of the others?

Northstar is fragile and doesn't have a good defensive option.

Ronin is fragile and has to put himself in danger by going into melee range.

Ion is versatile but limited by energy and her gun is less powerful.

Scorch is slow and has to be careful not to damage himself, not to mention his slow reload.

Legion is slow and unlike Scorch doesn't have the denial to defend himself outside of his shield.

What is Tone's weakness? Middle of the pack mobility and durability, best awareness with sonar pulse, best defensive with deployable shield, best gun against titans AND pilots thanks to homing and AoE, best ordnance due to great homing and damage, best core for the same reasons.

Yes, there are strategies against Tone but just because she isn't invincible doesn't mean she isn't better than the other titans.

That said depending on the map I usually bounce between grapple or stim. Grapple for Eden usually stim for places that are realitively open like Kodai, or homestead. Stim on homestead is great if only because it's a one way ticket out of those killing fields that is the majority of the map.

you can also get a massive speed boost on a large area of flat land where wall runs aren't an option.

you can gain amazing speed and general mobility out of an eject and about being goosed.

you can pull off crazy skill grapples on enemies every once in a while, like grappling an airborne enemy and kicking him in the face.

it's also excellent for a third jump, basically. it's great for escaping titans that are on to you, either by grappling the titan itself and then double jumping with a side curve to totally confuse it.

there's tons of amazing shit you can do with the grapple.
