Fireball damage isn't all that bad for me, I have full rathalos armor and that comes with a cool 20 fire res. My main issue is staying on his ass and getting hits in whenever possible, and my other main weapons (hammer and sns) sound like they would suck at that.

It's actually been working pretty well, he has a habit of repositioning and hovering to your left or right before fireballing and if I roll into him, I'll often jump off the tip of a wing or his tail that's swaying back and forth, which lets me iframe through his fireballs and hopefully knock him out of the sky. But I'll be honest, that fight is making me want to run quick sheath as an armor skill.

I'd try IG but I haven't played that since 4U and I'd probably do worse with that.

the only bad hitboxes i have experienced are on non relevant monsters and monsters that are famous for them, plesioth and congalala have been the worst so far.

the other bad hitboxes are sporadic, daimyo's claw hug, rathalos' tail spin

but there have also been shockingly good hitboxes, like rajang's punches, everything on garuga especially the advancing double beak smash

maybe since you were on psp/mobile the bad controls combined with hit and miss hitboxes to create a bad experience? i play on PPSSPP with an xbone controller and i've been having fun

the two most rage-inducing incidents i remember are rathian and tigrex.

For rathian it was as much a matter of hunting her on verdant hills as it was her hitboxes exactly. Fighting monsters in the upper left hallway zones is always a fucking dumpster fire but i had one quest where she would not fucking leave those zones and even with dung bombs she would just ignore or fly to the other hallway zone, and it felt like no matter how far off to the side i was her derpcharges would hit me every single time

Tigrex is pure kill-it-with-fire tier in FU, the hitboxes on his charges are just awful and I practically broke a blood vessel every time I was running up behind him as he charged and somehow got caught by the charge hitbox even though i wasn't even close to touching him in any way

Rathalos S is a good pick for armor overall. An often desired endgame set is Hayabusa Feather + Silver Sol + Vaik Faulds whilst using a Sharpness +5 OOO charm.

Hellblade weapons are either very good or simply the best overall option for many Blademaster weapons, their only real downside is a lack of gem slots. Regular Tigrex weapons are still good picks for raw oriented weapons though.

Dreadking is the deviant you grind its armor for, provided you use GS.

What carries over from your MHX Save File to MHXX?

Story progression and cleared quests are almost carried over 1:1.
However, if your HR is unlocked, upon transferring your save file your HR will be set to 8.
HRP will also be reset to a fixed value no matter what your current HR is.
So, everyone starts out on an even footing HR wise.
You will be able to earn awards based on HR and playtime in MHX when transferring your save file, and get a few titles.

You can change your character's name, appearance and gender only once when transferring.
Any male exclusive equipment will be converted to their female equivalents and vice versa. If there is no equivalent equipment, it will be converted into zenny. All attached decorations are automatically removed from converted armor pieces.

Weapons, armor, Palico equipment, charms, items, registered sets and zenny all carry over 100%.
HOWEVER, MHXX will adjust the strength of some weapons, so please be aware that some of your gear won't be the same as in MHX.

Event and Challenge quests do not carry over, and will be redistributed.

Employed Palicos will be carried over, inactive ones will be fired when carrying over your save, including special distribution Palicos.
Please be aware that parameters of Prowlers/Palicos will be adjusted in MHXX.

Guild cards do not carry over.

Weakness exploit added 50% affinity in p3rd and it was the endgame meta there as well. Silver Sol armor was known as the "uniform".
They knew exactly what would happen by changing it back and adding super crit, so I don't think it will be touched.

If anything, I expect a buff to sharpness+1 or the natural sharpness levels of lots of weapons. Nerfing the skill by making +2 killed endgame weapon variety so I imagine they'll want to fix that.

Additionally, I expect all deviant armors to get a new skill in G-rank. Hopefully a combination skill, but hell, even just sharpness+1 would give them a massive boost in usability and help out tons of weapons.

I'd piut in a late-game feature that allows you to combine two weapons into one, where the first weapon is the model and skin, and the second is the one with the stats and properties you'd like it to have.

it'd also be nice if you could see weapon information of other hunters. You can see their stamina, health, defense, attack, resistances, armor pieces, skills, charms, gems, but you still cant fuckin see how sharp their weapon is or if it has any affinity or what bullets their gun has.
