defender is better for exploration IMO. Nothing hurts me and I have hp, defense, and the rage meter build up 50% decals right now. So I can use rage moves a lot and not take much damage. when I reach tier 4 characters I will add the healing from items % up decal probably.

I don't know if the game mentions this but in case anyone doesn't know:

If you eat multiple of a stat affecting mushroom (eg Crushroom, +50% attack for 30 / 40 seconds (cooked)), the effect stays the same but the timer gets added to. So 2 cooked Crushrooms = 80 seconds (minus eating time of the second one) of 50% attack up.

I just have it at +4 and it's already doing comparable damage to my unupgraded battle axe, which is a tier 2 while my pickaxe is still tier 1.
I'm thinking it might actually surpass it in damage when I get it to tier 2.

Another neat thing is that you can charge up the pickaxe r2 and it'll do around quadruple damage, hit a screamer with it for 3.2k on a maxed str rank 3 all rounder with level 12 mastery.

Is there literally any point to putting up a defense if your characters aren't geared to shit? I havent lost a raid yet, but I only win defense on players who are clinically retarded.

so I have been using gatherers for grade1/2 for progressing and it has been fine, but with lvl16+ onwards you are really feeling the lacking damage stats. I made a defender for base defense and leveled him and while he is just a bit stronger than my grade3 gatherer the damage is massive.

So I have been thinking of either Striker, attacker (50/50 in both attack stats) or shooter. Striker seems good but having so low dex seems kinda lame, since I really like using the guns I pick up from the enemies.

Oh yeah I wonder how much exp they give when you eat them. They give exp when you kill them too. The mushroom is a much more powerful version of the regular one. The golden frog gives you thick tear gas+ for 30 seconds compared to only 10 seconds for the normal grilled frongus.

99% of defenders use the same hater AI, which is ultra passive and only attacks if the player when the player is coming at them, and will otherwise circlestrafe while guarding, and you can cheese with one-two shots, stay safe to retaliate if/when they attack, and just blow them up in a matter of seconds.

If you try to wait for them to open up you have to wait like 15 seconds per fighter and another one can drop down.
