Firion is the better replacement when his enhancements arrive though Garland and CoD can make a team of their own to take advantage of Garland's Dark Imperil. And Garland can elemental chain with Gil with his Wind Chaos and is much easier to gear than Firion.

If you have DW, then Firion is the superior choice while Garland is the easier to gear fellow since all he needs is the Blood Sword and the Dark Helm to get as many attack bonuses that he needs.

Firion comes first, though, so definitely swap him out. He's better than her when not fighting humans at first.

Orlandu is a terrible banner to save up to honestly since the units he comes with are all terrible(Ovelia/Soleil/Lawrence). I would recommend either Eileen 1(herself and Soze are great to have since Soze can go up to 6 and has a great TMR) or Tidus 1(Mr.HAHAHAHA and Abel the alt source of DW) instead to burn up your lapis.

Well it's nice to give him his own TMR, but all of his attacks inflict Dark anyway so it's not even necessary. You can give him anything you want, all you have to worry about is stacking his ATK to the moon.

He's one of the few units in the game that not only doesn't need Dual Wield, but can't even use it in the first place.

Basically he's for ending fuckhuge chains on to kill a boss instantly with a 1200% effective multiplier after imperil.
He's also unkillable if you can make sure he survives from full health, because he has instant auto regen to full life every turn.

He also makes having Garland and CoD EVEN SCARIER, and they become god-tier in his presence because of the double dark damage.

It's at the end of the turn (after they attack), so he's not INVULNERABLE, just damn near close.

Basically he only has 40% of his total HP to work with, but you can always heal the whole party after he attacks, making this pretty moot.
But his skill is really cheap in MP, so he's self-sustainable too.
He also has a slightly weaker one that's totally free in MP for when (if) that runs dry.

The multiplier is fucking BANANAS, and his attack is through the roof. He's easily the strongest non-chainster.

You can run that party through the whole story and be fine. Exdeath can become a serviceable ghetto healer for non-serious content.

But you'll want to swap out one for Fina once you clear island #2. And keep pulling in the hopes you get a good Tank/Healer/Support

Pretty bad since you can't gear all of the trees and he sucks as a 3* since he learns no offensive magic until his 4* at level 26 with Firaga/Blizzaga/Thundaga. Use your other members(that aren't Vivi/Fran).

When you get higher leveled teams, then you can start grinding out the other trees. Focus on the big tree(the 4*)and then grind the other ones once you max out the first.

So I'm in post-game Lv.99 Costlemark..
I really thought Jormengand was the final boss.

Now I'm stuck on the 3 Iron Giants.

How far from the end? I like this extreme restriction format, but I'm just scared I'll run out of good ingredients and face the big challenge with like +500 health and +100 atk.

And I had to do a million rerolls to get Lightning in the first place on her first banner(and in retrospect was her best banner thanks to the rate ups on both Charlotte(rivals Cecil and WoL now thanks to her 6*) and Ludmille(great TMR after Dual Wield)). Go after a banner that is genuinely good like the next VI banner or X banner 2 and get the next best obtainable thing then the 5* base dream.

He's still the best at pure tanking, although Charlotte may usurp him tonight.

WoL is technically more useful in a fight because he's also your breaker. So as unit space gets increasingly more valuable, he becomes the better choice (if you have to choose, they're usually great together).

There are very few units in the game that actually Cover other units.
I can only think of Charlotte, WoL, Earth Veritas, Rasler, and Cecil.
Most of those are trash, so that just leaves WoL and Cecil for now.

Banked trust can be worth as much as 10x as much NRG as direct trust, depending on your unit setup and TM progress.

If you have less than 3 copies of DW/genji glove, you can use another 10 trust moogles more than any other TM. Maybe even 4 copies. DW changes the game entirely, and you need a minimum of 3 copies on any setup (4 is ideal, 5 is perfect but often unneeded).

So unless you have some combination of 3 zidanes /gilgs, you should always fall for any moogle memes.

I feel the game was good, but it has deep, abiding flaws. It is nothing close to perfect.
Somewhere around 6.5~7/10 is where I'd rate it overall.
I feel the story could have been portrayed much, much better, and that a lot of stuff was glossed over or left unexplained. There was tragically little character development too, pretty much everyone ends where they started as people. The game nearly falls apart by the end with ideas that aren't executed well.
And yet gameplay-wise I had a blast for the most of it. At points I was terribly bored, or driven to frustration (Costlemark Tower), but at other times I was completely blown away and lost in the action. Very much an ups-and-downs experience, but in the end of the end I do not feel my time or money was wasted.

Iris joins your party and fights with you, mostly as a healer, for a dungeon or however long it takes you to finish that quest. The anime series, about the 4 dudes, is a good prelude to XV, better than Kingsglaive, because the XV story is mainly about them going through a journey and dealing with stuff, themselves, etc. There's a lot more going on, but it's just plot devices to move things on mostly.

I think XV offers a lot for a game. It starts to fail towards the end, but it gets a lot right most of the time. My recommendation is to give it a shot when the price is right for you. It's a big game sometimes. Getting to know it well could take up some time.
