I did few tests with arms warrior, changing 845 haste mastery gear to 865 crit mastery and one trinket with mastery to critical strike, only caring about better ilvl. Truth is that there wasn't any fucking difference in the damage, comparing on heroic xavius.

If you haven't finished any of the questing zones, finish those off and get your pillars. Then you should start pushing Suramar quests as soon as humanly possible. You ideally want to get completely caught up with those before the next big patch (4 - 5 weeks? You might have enough time)

In between that, start doing LFR weekly and your daily heroic to start gearing up and to get AP items. As soon as you have the gear, start jumping into Mythic and then Mythic+ for your dungeons.
