I'm re-reading the manga for the first time since I dropped it a decade ago and i'm wondering

How strong is Zazuba exactly in the grand scheme of things? He used to be a joinin, right? And he's feared as this super strong dude? But when I stopped reading around the pein arc way back in the day, I recall the hidden leaf instructors who are also all joinin fighting the atsuki or whatever and all of them seem absurdly stronger then Zabuza is here.

Even most of the characters as they are in the chunin exam seem way stronger then zazuba is. So what's the deal?

Also, I'm reading scan's of the viz localization, and the translation really doesn't seem too great. Is there a better one? Lastly, I know the anime has a few really well animated episodes, is there a list of them somewhere so I can watch those without having to suffer through the entire thing?

Minato was way beyond part 1 Kakashi's level so he might have been able to handle Zabuza without needing his students to save him from the bubble.

And a Obito + Kakashi fight vs Haku depends on whether Obito unlocks his sharingan, if he does then they have a much better chance than Naruto and Sasuke did.

He was strong enough to make it into the Konoha Bingo Book, and as an ex-Swordsman, clearly had decent power. As others have said though, thanks to shounen power level creep, it's sort of hard to exactly pin down HOW strong he was. Like, Kakashi goes from being put completely out of action for a whole week after using the base Sharingan for about half an hour, to being able to use the Sharingan for DAYS at a time, including many uses of Kamui during that time.

Akatsuki existed during Part I, so it can be assumed that almost all of the members of Akatsuki could drop Kakashi - and by extension, Zabuza - without too much hassle. Hell, Itachi solos Kurenai AND Kakashi. Almost all of the Part II bad guys would be able to hand Zabuza's ass to him without a problem. Even Naruto would be able to do that after picking up Sage Mode (and maybe even before)

tl;dr Zabuza is literally shit by endgame, moreso than most other villains

As far as what a gay relationship or character in particular could bring to the story or experience of the game, I think it would be interesting to see it done well and purposefully considering the source material. Not only did Kishi fail at writing an interesting hetero male/brother relationship but when it was made to seem homo as fuck it didn't even make it a compelling homo relationship either. There was just no motivation for any relationship there of any kind. At least nine that would be based on anything humans base relationships on. It's why he had to asspull the reincarnation bullshit in the first place.

If arata's player can come up with a compelling reason for arata to be attracted to shinki or whoever else, and cam make an interesting story about a kid discovering and coming to terms with his sexuality, it can add to the complexity of the character and the game in general.

Sometimes you need to put characters through their paces to see how they react to different things and flesh them out. Besides, I don't think arata being gay or bicurious or whatever had much of an impact on anything before a kid even goes through puberty and at some point realizes they are sexually attracted to other people. So it seems like now would be the time to develop characters' sexualities. Sadly I can't help you much but I feel I should at least try. On Reddit someone or a group of people have compiled all the canon episodes and removed a lot of the useless stuff from them, so fusing episodes together and cutting out scenes that play twice. As for well animated episodes I'm afraid I can't help there at all.

No, you're wrong. Having a tailed beast pulled from a host will always kill the host. The only people who have avoided dying immediately afterwards were Kushina and Naruto (Uzumaki super genes). Ever since Kushina was introduced it was established as a 'rule for jinchuuriki's' that they die afterwards. They only reason Naruto survived was because he had the yin half of Kurama shoved in him before he kicked the bucket, hence why Sakura had to keep him alive by physically pumping his heart for him. It hasn't been outright stated but it was heavily implied that Rinne Tensei does kill the orchestrator. The only people we've seen do (nagato and obito) were already in bad positions when they activated it so it's assumed so.

Summary.

So we started where we left off two weeks ago - Arata in the hospital bed, and Naruto telling the other three to come with him. He led the three of them to a room a few minutes away. Inside were the four other Kage, as well as Araya and Yodo. He moved around behind the desk that the Kage were sitting at, before glancing at them and sighing. He asked if the Genin all knew what they were there for. Fugetsu spoke for everyone, and said there was only one thing it could concern. Naruto sighed and laid it out - Arata and Shinki were both slated to become Chuunin, but after their interaction, that promotion had been revoked. Instead, their promotions had been put on indefinite hiatus, until such time that Arata and Shinki could prove they deserved to be Chuunin. He did warn, however, that if they went the other way, the promotion could be reversed entirely.

Naruto then said that the outburst between Shinki and Arata didn't affect the rest of the team, as it's not their job to keep their team in line. Fugetsu said they might consider it their job during a mission, but they just let their guard down under the circumstances. Naruto shrugged slightly, saying that if Arata was the type of person to provoke someone in a friendly environment, he wasn't the type of person he wanted as a Chuunin, and Gaara agreed when it came to Shinki. Fugetsu said that was reasonable, and that he, and the team, was just confused as to why Arata was doing it. Waniko said the team was going to try and lead him in the right direction, and Naruto said he knew they would, but said to impress upon Arata that there won't be second chances, as both he and Shinki were under observation, and if they didn't change, they'd need to take Exams again alongside completely different Genin teams.

Naruto dismissed the team, saying that the promotion ceremony was that night, as Kurotsuchi wanted to have a public display of who did and didn't make the cut.

While this was going on, a figure appeared next to Arata in the hospital, wearing a cloak and cowl that covered their face, saying that it was quite a dive that Arata took. Arata said it wasn't his fault, but the figure said that he seemed to be healing remarkably fast, and Arata replied that it was a perk of being a medical ninja. The figure said that they happened upon some information recently, regarding Renya and the co-ordinates that he had been given. Arata said he wasn't aware, since he wasn't in the habit of poking into his teammate's business. The figure said that was odd, considering the rest of Arata's clan, but regardless, would like it if he could see his way clear to perhaps ask his clan about them. Arata said he would, and asked if there was anything else the figure was here for. The figure said mostly Renya, but also checking up on him. The figure said he was interesting, getting all upset because he suddenly not the star of the show anymore, lumped with a future Mizukage and some girl from a far-off secret clan.

Arata, more than a little surprised, asked how the figure knew that. The figure shrugged, and said they'd seen it before. Arata asked who the figure was, but was told that that wasn't a secret he needed to know just yet, but they were sure they'd meet again, probably before too long. The figure looked up as they heard doctors in the next room, and disappeared into smoke.

The three of them left the room, and OOC had a discussion about whether they should tell Arata what the go was (since Arata's player didn't look at the Roll20 tab while we were in Naruto's room). The other three end up deciding to head back to the infirmary. The team explained what had gone down - that Arata and Shinki won't be making Chuunin, but they'll have the chance to make it later without taking the Exams again, if they can get along. Arata said he would just need to play nice from then on.

Arata wondered if Shinki would attempt to continue the smackdown if they ran into each other later, but Fugetsu and Waniko said that Araya and Yodo probably told him, and Waniko said Shinki would like to start over. Arata said he had some work to do before the ceremony, before asking how the rest of them did. Fugetsu said there was nothing definite. Arata asked if he could get some crutches so he could find Shinki and make amends. The doctors give him the OK - he's a bit shaky, and his legs twinge a bit, but he's able to move.

The team splits up to try and find Shinki, with Waniko and Arata heading back to the room that Naruto took them to before. Waniko knocked on the door, and Naruto opened it, a little confused to see them. Arata said the doctors had said he was fine for the ceremony, but he'd been told he had some work to do before then. Naruto seemed more confused, and asked what he meant by 'before then'. Waniko asked if he knew where Shinki was. Naruto called Gaara over and asked him. Gaara said probably back at the hotel, since none of Team Shinki had to go to the infirmary. He asked why, and Naruto said Arata wanted to make up for before. Gaara looked at Arata and asked if he did realise that he wasn't going to become a Chuunin those Exams, regardless of what he did between now and the ceremony. Naruto sighed and thanked Gaara, before saying he'd head back inside soon. Gaara nodded and headed back.

Naruto turned back to Waniko and Arata, and conceded that Gaara was right - it was good that Arata wanted to smooth everything over, but he wasn't becoming a Chuunin from this Exam. Arata asked if he would prefer it if he kept arguing with Shinki, but Waniko stepped in, saying that Naruto didn't mean that, and that everyone just wanted to make sure he was moving forward.

He said that Arata seemed pretty happy to pass everything off as a game, but he needed to recognise that he screwed up, and he needed to take responsibility for that. He didn't know why Arata was acting out, and he wasn't Arata's parent so he wasn't going to pry, but he did need to pull himself into line.

Arata said he just wanted to apologise, but it felt like Naruto and Gaara were trying to just make it difficult. Waniko said that she and Naruto had his best interests at hear, and were trying to understand what happened, and they wanted him to be the best he could be. Naruto said that Arata was welcome to apologise, and that he encouraged it, but that an apology alone would not net him a promotion.

Arata said he wasn't doing it for the promotion, and that he was doing it for the team, who wanted what was best for him. Naruto nodded, and said there was no problem then, and he just didn't want Arata to be under the illusion that it would just make everything ok from the Kage's end. The two of them then decided to head back to the hotel to see Shinki. On their way back to the hotel, Arata mentioned that people in his clan usually picked flowers for people they upset, and wondered aloud if he should do that for Shinki. Waniko said it wouldn't be a bad idea, and asked what sort of flowers were used for peace offerings. Arata said flowers that reminded them of the person, and Waniko asked what sort of flower did Shinki strike Arata as.

She said she'd gotten herself into a lot of trouble in the past and she could tell him that the only thing that makes it better is choosing to learn from the experiences and make himself better, and this apology was a good start, not that she'd ever understand his motivation in the first place but if he could understand and move on she reckoned he'd be a better person, a better shinobi, and better teammate.

Arata was caught a bit off-guard by the lecture, but knew that he brought it upon himself and couldn't argue with it. He said he was being serious, and that sitting in hospital gave him some time to think. He did hesitate and say that she'd need to help him with the flower picking though, due to the crutches. Waniko smiled and helped him out, as they headed to the area he was at before. He didn't explain what the flowers meant, but just pointed out the ones he wanted to Waniko. Arata wondered out loud if he needed to get flowers for the rest of the team, but Waniko said she didn't think so, but if he saw any that reminded him of the team, he could point them out. Arata said it was a little deeper than that, and Waniko asked how, but Arata said she wouldn't get it, since she's not a Fujita. Waniko seemed a little miffed, saying that he'd have to be a special kind of crazy to read all that into flowers.

After a while, they head back to the hotel, gather Fugetsu and Renya, who were just chilling in their room, and head down to reception to get the floor and room of Shinki's team.

Arata asked if Shinki was around, and Araya glanced at Arata, said to hang a bit, and went to go get him. After a moment, Shinki came back, saying that his brother had said they were looking for him. Arata said he thought they might've gotten off on the wrong foot before. Shinki nodded, and said that it had been mostly his own fault, but he agreed. Arata looked down at his legs and said that he might not have a 'right' foot at the moment, but he was there to try and fix it. Shinki followed his eyes to the damaged legs and winced, saying that he was really sorry about it, and that while he might have thought about what he'd do, he didn't consider the after effects. Arata said not to worry, and that he'd live, before saying he had something for Shinki. Shinki raised an eyebrow, and Arata handed over the flowers. Shinki took them, and his other eyebrow joined the first.

Shinki said he appreciated the gesture, but he didn't think Arata was getting the right idea from him. Arata was a little confused, and Shinki glanced past Arata to the rest of the team, seemingly lost for words. Waniko was quick on the uptake, confirming that it wasn't like 'that', and it was just that his clan was weirdly into flowers, with Fugetsu agreeing. Arata asked that it wasn't 'like what', while Renya looked away with a grin. Shinki mumbled 'Never mind', but Arata just awkwardly apologised for being a jerk. Shinki nodded and apologised as well, thanking him for coming by, and for ruining his chance to become Chuunin. Arata said it was ok, and it wasn't entirely his fault. Shinki said he shouldn't have overreacted, but Arata said he shouldn't have given him a reason to. Shinki, perhaps a little embarrassed, said maybe, and that he thought that if he showed him how powerful he was, he'd lay off Shinki's team. Arata said that he didn't think for a second that Shinki's team wasn't powerful, which resulted in Shinki asking WHY he kept going then. Arata turned to his team and shrugged, with Shinki looking past him to the team again, saying that he wanted to like the team, he really did, and his siblings like the team as well, and none of them understood why he was doing it. Arata said he'd understand if Shinki didn't want to welcome him with open arms next time they met, but asked him not to hold it against his team, as they tried to stop him. Shinki said he was willing to start again if Arata was, but said they won't going to hold it against the team.

Arata nodded, saying he'd like to start again. Shinki extended a hand, saying that they should call it there, then, hoping that he'd sorted whatever he needed to sort before they next met. Arata shook Shinki's hand and smirked slightly, mentioning about sparring next time, and that he'd want to be healthy for it. Shinki grinned and said he was looking forward to it, and that it might not be too far away. He thanked Arata again for the flowers, and headed back inside.

Arata turned back to this team and said that went well. Waniko said she was a bit surprised. Arata asked why, and Waniko said she was expecting something a bit more diplomatic, but it seemed to go the trick. She said that she guessed that boys just seemed to have a different way of doing things, and that it was kind of weird, but she was glad it worked out, before giving him a headpat. Arata asked what he meant with the flowers though, and Renya asked what ARATA meant with the flowers. Waniko piped up, saying that he never told her what they meant. Arata said that they just meant he was sincere in his longing to cooperate with him, before asking if they thought Shinki might have misinterpreted it.

Waniko said that Shinki seemed to understand him fine by the end, so it was probably ok. The team, by now, was back at their own hotel room, and Renya asked what the team was going to spend the money they got from Tenten on. Arata and Waniko wondered if she ended up getting caught by the Jounin, and Arata wondered what she'd spend all her winnings on. Renya said that shipping things to and from Noxus in bulk probably wasn't going to be cheap, as she mentioned a new trade agreement, and if they got any more money from the bet, he knew what he wanted. Waniko asked what that was, and Renya said he wanted some of the Chakratech armour that the Warmaster or Elder Champion had. Waniko said it'd be pretty expensive, especially considering what they had, and wondered how much Tenten would have to win for them to be able to afford it.

That was pretty much it. More tomorrow. We're going to be moving quickly, getting through the ceremony, back to Konoha, and onto the bit between the Exams and Fugetsu Hiden.
