Is there a mod that will allow you to do those special unarmed moves in first person in FO4?

I know you can do trips, pushes, tackles and counters in third person using the power attack. But for some sad reason, you weren't able to perform those cool moves in first person.

Thinking about it, the lore states that Danse is an escaped synth, but given that his memories go back to when he was a child, included having a childhood friend who enlisted into the Brotherhood with him, and was responsible for killing his childhood friend after they were sent to search for said friend, where could he have been inserted to make sense? He can't simply be in the Brotherhood of Steel, so he must have been an escaped synth before becoming an initiate. He became an initiate with another person, and I assume others in the BoS would corroborate the existence of Cutler, the friend. Does this confirm the implication that synths can age, despite voiced lines saying otherwise? The only other possibility is that Danse assumed the life of a preexisting human Danse, but since he's a runaway synth, I assumed that to not be the case.

The Railroad are sort of implied to be a mix of operatives who utilize stealth and secrecy (Deliverer, spies like Deacon, etc.) and agents who use force and heavy combat (Glory, the heavily armored plating of the combat uniform, etc.). So, really, you could go either way, though I would for certain suggest the use of the Railway Rifle (with mods to make it not total shit).

I think synths can age, there's hints of it in Far Harbor with Avery.

Only one scientist says synth Shaun can't age, maybe she was wrong. Or maybe they just assume synths can't age, like they assume they don't have free will.

I think it would have been documented somewhere if that was the case, but maybe most synths don't live that long / we're already adults at "birth" and no one noticed them actually aging.

Did you Bodyslide any of these armors?

I had a weird problem with editing stuff where it would conform to my preset when the reference body was set to zero, and would double in size when I applied my preset to the reference body. Maybe your Vault Suit bodyslide is messed up, effectively doubling your sliders when your outer armor is worn over it.

Some armors just do that. I know that military fatigues make combat armor inflate like a balloon animal. But with BoS underarmor it gets smaller. I have no idea how Bethesda managed to pull it off, and I work with meshes almost exclusively.

Besides the limited variety, I think in vanilla, the damage of the .44 is pretty decent. You can get some good damage overhauls and/or mods for new guns, but .44 caliber in general is hard to find and is overall very scarce. Like someone else said, Nuka World added an even stronger .44 handgun called the Western Revolver, while Far Harbour added the Legendary effect Deadeye, which slows down time while aiming. I'm running mods, so I'm using a Deadeye Detective Special, but a Deadeye Western Revolver would probably be top class.

also you can do sorta counter moves if you power attack just as the enemy is about to melee. At least for humanoid enemies.

Otherwise it's just about parrying enemy attacks and hitting thim before they recover. Or weaving out, and attack again as they're recovering from a swing.

That doesn't even make sense.

NV did it worse because they were so bad at designing a weapon modding system that it was artificially limited, and thus they needed more base weapons because they didn't have the skills to make fewer that had more mods that allowed you to make them from one of those base weapons into another.

NV had artificial variety because like 2/3rds of the "base" weapons wouldn't have needed to exist had they developed a weapon mod system work a dam.

Personally Nuka World has grabbed my interest more, but I haven't done much for Far Harbour, Longfellow was supposed to lead me somewhere but just stood around and I got to frustrated trying to fix or find the issue out.

Nuka World lets you be in charge (kinda) of three raider gangs and take them into the commonwealth. This does nothing to the minute men though because Bethesda I guess. I remember Preston bitching at me about being a scumbag raider so I told him to fuck off or I'll kill him and the minute men and he just goes "I'll follow your orders like a loyal minute man but we're not friends anymore" which honestly pissed me off.

If you have it beyond the 2nd preset, and you don't bother adjusting things, NPC spawn does tend to get a bit too frequent and absurd, leading to CTDs. I don't recall the last time I had a crash after bumping down to the first or second preset for spawn rates/numbers. Looks like right now my saves are about 58 MB large.

It's the setting more than anything I like. It was a step in the right direction over 1, which at times felt too much a generic post apocalyptic game.

I don't mind 3 honestly. It's not great but it's not terrible. There is a lot that is so far removed from what Fallout is it hurts, but at the same time there are elements of greatness.

I never really got this. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Fallout 3 is a particularly great game by any measure, but this "its not Fallout" thing I never got.

I find it more Fallouty then Fallout 2, and like how they actually developed both the BoS, and the Enclave, showing internal faction squabbles, and making them far more then the one dimensional cardboard cutouts they were in Fallout 2.

It's not that 3 doesn't "feel" like Fallout, it's the amount of absurd, unnecessary changes that put me off it. All the way through I was scratching my head. Why are there supermutants and centaurs in DC? Why are there bottlecaps? Why do the weapons all have dramatically different designs? I know there are explanations for some of the changes, but they aren't good enough. It ticks me off because I know there is a talented team at Bethesda who could have contributed their own mythos to the Fallout universe without recycling content with ridiculous explanations behind said changes. Hell, I can see this in The Pitt and to a lesser extent Point Lookout so its not as if all those good designers left after Shivering Isles was made.

I like how you referenced the Enclave too because that further reinforces my point.

I might be looking at 2 with rose tinted goggles honestly. It was my first Fallout, so retroactively when I played 1 I was sort of miffed by how grimdark it was a times.

That's not how it works, all your mods are locally on your computer. With family sharing he can download the game to his computer, your files won't be affected in any way.

I know that latter part, I just know that backup & restore verifies your game cache and replaces files with the normal ones if they're altered. It happened to me when I modded my Dragon's Dogma and backed it up for him.
I know that most mods are in their own folders and .esp files separate of the core .esm files, I just want to make sure there's nothing else i'm overlooking so that a backup doesn't verify and revert anything specific.

Well I was level 90-something so I had full assault tree as well as full heavy weapons tree (didn't matter because I reached my build's max potential early, as I was melee for most of the game and picked up guns entirely due to boredom).

Testing both I can confirm an automatic assault rifle outperforms a minigun in every way.

You can argue that a minigun is "good" depending on the legendary affix but at that point it doesn't matter what weapons you have if it's got "explosive" on it, does it

Basically though, the Legion dont have towns, they dont have civilians, they just lord over a few non tribal communities.

According to him power, food, water, and safety are good, but no one has the right to make any decisions about the community, and, if the Legion tells them they have to move 50 miles, then they have to do it no questions asked or people get their heads cut off.

Although Sawyer did point out that most people don't really care about the situation since before The Legion came shit was so bad they didn't really have the ability to make decisions about shit like that anyways, since it was just harsh raiders who ruled over them.

My biggest grip right now is trying to find a good lighting mod to counter balance darker nights.

I love the feel of the dark nights but it makes the strip too dark, when it's supposed to be the city of lights.

Ultimately that might lead to a future group consolidating power like Caesar and then becoming better armed and trained again. If they out pace other groups due to the intense competition, one of the tribes might become strong enough to maintain power beyond the patriarch at the time.

Having played Bethesda games since Daggerfall, the only game in which this was a problem was Morrowind due to item limits in containers.

In every game since Oblivion, they always throw so many containers in every house that its basically impossible to not have enough containers for you to be able to put all chems in one container, all weapons in another, all armor in another, etc. etc.

Even then, if you are collecting so much of that shit that you can sort through it all, you are probably hording a bunch of weak ass weapons/armors that you aren't using and wont ever use.

Actually that makes sense.

There is no such thing as a "base" gun in Fallout 4. Its all JUST weapon parts, which allows the system to be as moddable as it is.

Simply trying to remove the stock from a weapon would only result in you ending up with a "weapon" that is non viable, and that the game wouldn't be able to understand coding wise, because you would be making a gun without one of the parts that is needed to make a gun.

As mentioned by another poster, the pipboy character flashes what armor/clothing slots an outfit takes up.

If it only takes up the body/legs, only the body/legs will flash on the pipboy, while the arms will not, showing that the arms are still open

What's the point? We all know the games many, many, many shortcomings and faults. The fact that every single aspect and game mechanic is half-assed and that Bethesda has been doing their best to cut as many corners as possible. If this was any other game i'd just shrug it off and be done but this is Fallout for fucks sake, i used to have so much fun with this series and here is FO4, the only title that actually makes me angry. But mostly because i realized that exploration focused sandbox games no longer hold my interest. I feel like i've seen every single bunker, cave, ruin and mountain and it's no longer enough to just explore them. I want more, i want to meet someone important and unique there, i want to see a unique event, a unique quest, a super secret item i can find nowhere else. Something that is more than just "explore shit and kill shit to get more loot and materials that allow you to craft shit that will enable you to explore more shit and kill more difficult shit etc."

I'm sick off it, i'd trade hundreds of hours of Fallout 4 for a 50 hour hub based story driven RPG with a protagonist that actually makes a difference.

1. Because bethesda never expands on base game join able factions in the DLC

2. They already tried that shit back in Oblivion, with being able to tell the Fighter's Guild what to focus on, being able to send your Dark Servant and Pirate Gang from the house DLCs on raids and shit, and being able to send guards to defend towns during attacks in Shivering Isles, and everyone gave a collective cry of "WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THESE THINGS!"

A. concreate can only be got in the DLC
B. Every majortown, and most small farmsteads, have power, so thats not even something worth mentioning
C. You do not have indoor plumbing without mods. The only water plumbing you have, even with all the DLC, is for the water pumps.

V81 has no reason to care, they barely trade with the surface as is, and are fine with that.

Basically this

-The Institute, V81, and Diamond City, are all fully self sufficient. And each has nuclear generators, water purifiers, and farms.

-Bunker Hill, Goodneighbor, Covenant, and other places like The Slog, Warwick Homestead, Abernathy Farm, also have access to power, as well as farms, or some other means of trade, water purification, and defenses of some kind. Even if its just fences.

-Basically all of them live in buildings just as good, if not better, then anything you can build.

Like 90% of The Commonwealth already has everything they need that is on par with stuff you can build outside of the Vault-Tec DLC.

No one has a reason to care about your ramshackle settlements, they are only just as good as anything else out there.

The PC has no ability to "rewind time" unless you mean saves... something every game has.

And its actually less possible to beocme a master of everything in Fallout 4 then it is Fallout 3 or NV since you would have to reach level 320+ to get all the perk points needed ot max everything, while in Fallout 3/NV it was possible to max everything before the level cap of 30 or 50(depending on the game)

Which i'm actually fine with in a linear of hub based RPG. Alpha Protocol and Mass Effect are some of the most linear RPGs you can find and i love them but if they'd keep the same level of world reactivity and just blow up the world size(like in Dragon Age 3) it doesn't work. But on top of that, the whole point of the Minutemen is that they are like the real world Minutemen, a collection of people with no real central authority bound together on the common idea of protecting each other "at a minutes notice" when needed.

I'm currently running an Imperator Furiosa build, so she's focused on crafting stuff, like robotic parts (is there something else other than CROSS cybernetics for arm replaces?), heavily modded weapons and power armors.

But even fallout and mad max share a post apocalyptic setting, the lack of vehicles makes cuts out a lot of this build. how should I deal with settlers, and factions, for examples?

fov <third person> <first person> - two parameters, so if you're trying to set it back to normal, make sure you use two numbers

Depends on which ones you deleted. In Sanctuary and elsewhere, certain things are placed specifically for optimization purposes. Those large hedges that you can't see through? That's on purpose, the things behind it aren't loaded in.

I know previously with Spring Cleaning, if you deleted the Sanctuary Houses, you'd be able to see the terrain and props normally hidden by the solid walls as being simply not loaded in. Gotta be careful about which ones you delete basically, I typically go for the bramble, trees, and general shrubs on the ground that aren't solid.

Tbh I'm getting kinda tired of modding this game, but still intending on finishing my current projects and all. I've kinda got some ideas for weapon mods but I don't really feel like learning how to actually make models. I don't really have the artistic ability for that, my concept art always looks worse than what I end up with in game usually, too.

I think my problem is I can't think of any mods, nor do I feel like I have the ability with my mods to make Fallout 4 better on the whole. I mean sure, I can rig a winged deathclaw thing, make a minigun with unique shit, or rig power armor...but in the end they kinda feel like novelties that don't really deal with the main issues of the game. No offense to Trainwiz, but I kinda got the same vibe from Maxwell's World. Sure, its a really cool quest mod and all with voice acting, but once you're done with it, you're back in the wasteland with all its problems with some new novelty gear / weapons that you probably won't use much and then put them in a container somewhere on a settlement. For the most part it seems like once you've explored and done everything, there doesn't seem to be much point to doing much else. Maybe I should get war of the Commonwealth and more settlement mods...and I think it would be neat to see an actual use to having loads of materials, like making your own liberty primes and shit.

I've built up my settlements and scavenged so much that I have enough resources to make a small army, supplemented by robots. Is there was a mod that lets you take over Raider outposts? There are a lot of barren areas with only 4-5 feral ghouls and tons of areas that feel like they were rushed during creation, like the Glowing Sea. I eventually would like to see a mod that lets you provide settlers with their own set of power armor and kind of make your own BoS, and have them fight large swathes of monsters n' muties.

I'm kinda wondering where to put these weapons, too. New Vegas IIRC only had its few Plasma casters in the energy weapons shop. Also I would like to make Automatron version weapons of these too. So if you give a robot dual BFG-9000s you win the game forever. I'll make them cost absurd amounts of nuclear materials to craft for robots.

The weapon will still use default plasma cartridges, but will have an absurdly high ammo capacity.

Its very rare, and IIRc, requires the killing blow be done by splash damage, or some other AoE effect, due to some weird coding thing in how the protected status works.

Get 'CBBE' and 'Bodyslide and outfit stufio'. That way you can edit the body to have whatever shape you want.

When installing the cbbe body you can choose the 'never-nude' version if you don't want to see any nekid tiddies.
