so, i played this game during the open beta and hated it because of the combat style. it's like if you added moba ults to a unity quake port without circlejumping, and then you gave everyone a shitload of nonsensical buffs. However, this game seems to be doing really well for whatever reason. I thought it might just be Blizzard fanboys, or people that like the porn, but it would appear a vast majority of people actually like playing the game. The problem with Roadhog's hook it seems is the way the 'shot' is calculated or acknowledged. There's times where I've been hit with it despite moving behind a door/wall, because I think when it's used, they calculate where it's going to hit and if you're there, you will be collected by it.

The problem is no-one gets that you need to make the turret the central point of your defense. The enemy team is going to want to destroy it, by placing the turret intelligently you can make it much harder for flankers to get access to your backline as well as controlling where the enemy team is going to try and come from.

No-one utilizes the area denial though and just plays as though the turret isn't there.

Do you guys ever get voice lines from the game pop into your head at random times? Quite often when I'm at work or just driving and thinking about something else my inner monologue will suddenly say "Oh oh this is mah jam" or a different line

Because the turret is shit and only works due to lack of coordination in pubs. Otherwise it's just poke/finishing damage/distraction (which are still useful things). Reinhardt/D.va + any long-range hero could eat turrets for breakfast.

I'm in the same boat basically, but I have to play at absolute lowest settings where you can barely see anything to get 30 fps. We are absolutely at a huge disadvantage. Any dip below 30 during intense battles makes aiming pretty much impossible.
