Figured I'd try revisiting MvC3 and Skullgirls today. Playing them together, I honestly ended up liking the feel of Skullgirls a bit more.

I might play some more next year depending on how I feel about MvCI. I like the Teams with Assists aspect of Marvel, so it's too bad to see that's going away.

Are there any other games with that kind of team synergy element? Not KOF style, but Marvel style.

Okay, so does anybody know where to find a solid definition of what a "dial-a-combo" is? I'm seeing the term used in ways that confuse me.

My understanding for years, was that a "dial-a-combo" was specifically describing when characters in a game have certain scripted moves that correspond to a series of buttons, and they can only activate those moves by "dialing" the sequence.

So like, in a traditional Capcom game you'd press "LLLL" and get four lights, but in a Dial-a-Combo game, like maybe a 3D Fighter, "LLLL" starts a whole series of unique attacks after the first L that are specific to "LLLL" and those attacks can't be done individually with any other buttons.

Therefore it's more like a scripted action that starts from "dialing" the sequence instead of chaining individual attacks.
So the game might require you to make contact with "LL" in order to gain access to a certain safe move or ender attack that you can't use in neutral.
