After making 1,000,000 RU in Call of Chernobyl with AO3, I decided to amass a collection of fully upgraded 7.62x51mm NATO firearms. As it turns out, they all basically have the same performance when fully upgraded.

>Insane muzzle velocity
>One/two shot kill on every human enemy in the game

>Pointlessly high ROF

There's literally no reason to upgrade the ROF on 7.62mm NATO firearms, because the recoil is so high that firing more than 2-round bursts freaks your screen the fuck out. The HK 417 seems to be the best one by far, due to being able to mount a grenade launcher.

On a side note about upgrades, I fully upgraded the recoil reduction on the P90 in AO3, and it recoils downwards pretty severely now. Is that normal? If you reduce recoil too much, a weapon starts recoiling down in AO3?

See, I never actually upgraded recoil reduction in vanilla because it never bothered me. There's rarely a reason to be firing in anything other than 3-5 round bursts, so reducing the kick doesn't really accomplish much for an experienced player, you know? The "so little recoil that the gun recoils in the opposite direction" thing is new to me, and it's really severe on the P90 because of its crazy ROF.

Nope. Chernobyl is the way it is because of dumb magical bullshit involving psychic scientists in pods tearing a hole in the noosphere. The implication is that the Zone is spreading, but we never see that in the games.

There's a couple of (apparently awful) licensed books where there's more Zones, but they're not really canon to the games.

If you want spoilers, right as you step out of Duty base, game tells you that you've been captured by bandits, and starts loading Dark Valley immediately. Relations between factions are affected positively if a faction is killing other factions that the initial faction hates, and affected negatively if it's killing factions that the other faction is neutral or better with.

In this particular case, loners were probably killing a lot of military squads, which made duty angry because duty is neutral to the military.

You know that happened to me when I was playing as clear sky and messing around, kinda fucked up relations for clear sky but overall it was fun.

After they killed me (was playing ironman mode) I chose duty just cause I saw that relations between loners and duty are negative.

When I respawned in bar, every, literally every loner started to attack me, I was dying all the time, it took me some time to finally beat all of them.

After that, I went to Wild Territory and saw another pair of Loners.

But...

But they were neutral to me, they didn't fire at me nor anything. I was a bit confused but thought it could be a bug. Moreover, when I cleared wild territory from mercs, suddenly duty and loners declared a war and well, yeah, the pair of loners started to shoot at me.

That was a weird experience desu.

I don't know how difficult that would be to implement/mod. Obviously traders can reference your faction relation for discounts but is it possible to have them reference it to unlock their heavy pockets inventory for non-faction friendlies?

That was by far the coolest moment I've had; Timing my shots and waiting for the lightning to give me a clear shot. I don't think I'll ever play a game that organically let's me do cool things like this. I just had to take a step back and realize how fucking cool the whole scenario was.

What I thought would be: CS use almost only shotguns and Mosin/SVT, rare PMs, TTs, PPSh (weapons allowed to civilian population in Russia, not sure about Ukraine laws as I'm Russian), bandits -- same as CS + AKS-74U, TT, Fort, PM, Bizons etc (civ weapons + police weapons, received through raids, Chechnya-style), loners - same as bandits + more WWII weapons (Cold War compounds have plenty of that, look at Donbass conflict, both sides use Mosins ffs), probably some bakelite AKMs. Military uses AK-74s, SVDs, PKMs, RPDs, PMs only (unification), Duty, as military-friendly faction have same weapons but with more freedom, Freedom uses mostly WWII and Cold War gear, as well as Monolith (they're fanatics, not millionaires).

Forgot anyone? That's only my vision as someone who faced owning a legal weapon in Russia, so any input is appreciated. I'd also rebalance the availability/price of ammo, but I don't know exact prices on Ukrainian market.

Am I the only who thinks that artifact handling is unnecessarily complex in Misery even by the mod's standards? It gives you elbow-room for dunking neutral and friendly stalkers for no reason. I killed two Ecologists who'd been calmly sat down at Agroprom North while all of their Loner buddies were being purged by the Military and lost a rank of reputation, but didn't lose any for killing Loners with a bounty on their head while I was playing as a Mercenary.

I just use AO because it's the best weapon mod. Considering how useless it was to pick up weapons and armor in SoC I scarcely even bother in CoP either. I prefer the guns in my game to look, sound, and perform decently, instead of looking massively unproportional and feeling like shit. Furthermore, if vanilla CoP is anything like vanilla CS was, it's good riddance to those damage values. No man or mutant should be able to take 10 point-blank buckshots to the face.

Actually, speaking of AO and STCoP, does the latter have a different FAL model? The one in AO(Stg-58?) reminds me a LOT of the vanilla AK from SoC in that it's fuckhuge and covers half the screen, which is a giant turn-off since the FAL is my all-time favourite rifle and none of the other weapons really fill the void in my heart.

In AO3, using the Mosin (then maybe later upgrading to the SVT-40) is pretty challenging because they can't be upgraded and have pretty unforgiving recoil/ROF issues. I was going to suggest using a sawed-off, but even those are pretty fucking good if you stay mobile.

My go-to build for most playthroughs tends to be a pistol with the sawed-off, since it keeps you light and ammo's relatively easy to come by. It just feels that there's an awful lot in the field that you can scavenge which makes it easy to replenish your used-up supplies.

The way I see it, is that pretty much anyone that goes under the psi field becomes zombified to a degree.

The scorcher is set up by the monolith as a recruiting station. Although it and X-16 have different emitters, the scorcher is manned by monolith to get mindwiped stalkers to wander into their camp, while X-16 is unmanned, so there is no monolith to recruit from there and all the stalkers remain as brain-fried zombies.

havent used that in a long long time. if you can't edit the exe yourself then yeah i guess you would need it.

all i'm going to say is this. read the readmes, pay attention to what is in the optional folders.

also make a backup of your call of pripyat gamedata folder before you start tossing mods in there. so you have something to fall back on.

In SoC, even with the last official patch, it is still possible to get stuck with the "permanently radiated" bug, where your rad level will always increase, even if you use antirad or equip radiation-reducing artifacts.

While, if you have enough of them, the artifacts will keep you from dying from rad poisoning, the damage from said rad poisoning will interrupt your sprinting and stuff and is just generally a pain in the ass.

If you have ZRP installed, this pretty much keeps this from ever happening, but, if you don't, installing it won't fix it, it's bugged to your save file and you'll have to start a new one.

There's a couple places where you can get it from, usually from the tunnel in Garbage where you find the Viper 9x18mm, a couple places along the fence at Agroprom (Where the night star spawns, usually), as well as some places on the hill fence at Yantar.

It sucks, but if you're going to restart anyway you might as well install ZRP and keep it from ever happening again.

Personally I consider the ZRP series to be exception to the "play it vanilla" rule, since you can configure it to be basically entirely bugfixes, some of which are very nasty bugs.

CoP without mods can be quite a bit empty. In CoC, with warfare you could edit the spawns yourself.
Misery, at least the 1.1v which I remember better, did tone the spawns down.

Atmosphere, the maps are way better, the plot is more mysterious and interesting. Nothing in CoP approaches the labs in SoC for atmosphere for eg. Each of the early SoC labs introduces a couple of new mutants. CoC maps are boring with their wide open layouts. CoC shows this with SoC/CS maps being far more interesting to explore than the CoP maps.

•Fix misassigned vertices on the wpn_bm16_hud (ToZ-66) sawed-off hud model. (during reload, part of the barrels/frame was not rotating with the rest)

Tested for a little while, all seemed fine.

Okay so I was recently playing OGSE 0693, done some shit, got weapons and stuff and there was the mission where i had to bring box of artifacts for military for box of weapons for sidorovich.

Talking with Kuznetsov and he told me that I had to drive (??) with a car to him and give him this box for weapon, then the deal would be clear. Instead I didn't do that and I sold every fuel canister I saw in Cordon. Couldn't find others.

So I killed all of the military cunts at the bridge and I got the task updated.

After coming back to rookie village there was a shitfest, Tolik, Wolf and Nimble are dead.

Maybe. The car is in the rookie village, look to your right coming in from Sid's. It's a bit iffy, you got to load it up with a canister by using a specific key while staring at its ass and then drive it for TWO WHOLE MINUTES!!! This is the kind of innovation slavmods bring to the table.
Can you continue with Sids quests? If not then yes, otherwise you just missed some other great slav fetchquests.

What's up with Pripyat?

Is it ever explained why, that in SoC there are faggots everywhere, Expert Loners, Duty and Freedom and numerous all over the city especially when Strelok clears out most of the Monolith resisitence.

However at the beginning CoP it shows a different area of Pripyat that's all fucked. It's completely controlled by Monolith forces.

Throughout the whole game everyone raves on about getting to Pripyat and finding a way there.

After the big Emission at the end of SoC, the Anomalies shifted around, closing off some paths and opening others.

This is why routes to some territories are closed in Clear Sky, but they're open again by the time SoC happens.

Once was spamming at a bandit point blank with my pistol and was effectively stunlocking him and on most shots his healthbar would go down, but on some it wouldn't move or sometimes it would even go UP. That shit seems to happen only when they're doing the stumble animation

I know about that whole stagger invulnerability thing and I'm playing on Master. I think the weapons just have lower damage than what I'm used to. Close range slug to an unarmored chest should put somebody down, not stagger them.

Baseless theory: damage is subtracted by a set amount during stagger, which can cause negative health loss in some cases (explaining what that anon said about the health bar going up). This would be atrocious coding though, I'd be shocked if the theory is right.

In the original planned version of the game, Dark Valley was supposed to have a Monolith base (where X-18 is now). Basically if you've played Lost Alpha, it's pretty much how it was supposed to have been in the game.

Currently in-game, they have sleeper agents in the zone carrying tasks without being even aware of it(Strelok is one of them) and possibly recruiting. They have access to underground passages they can use to access areas in the South and probably go and recruit people to their cause.

I had some early mod for SoC that added the TOZ, apparently it was in game files but never added. It was bugged to that accuracy and never decreased with condition, and the damage was extremely high. I carried that gun all the way to the NPP. Dart rounds had like no drop so I could just snipe just as well as with a rifle, and they pierced armor too. It was also nice to have the flexibility of using shot.

They aren't as useful as they used to be, but slugs are pretty cheap and common so there is definitely a niche for hobo phase, or if you want to have some flexibility with a shotgun. It can be fun for challenges too.

Does anyone know where the save files for GOG installations of SOC are located? I copied the files from my documents folder a while back, but after doing a fresh format and re-install of my OS, I can't get the save files to load in my game despite putting the "Stalker-SHOC" folder in my Documents folder. I tried putting it in the My Games folder too, to no avail.

I would appreciate the assistance. I never got to finish the game, and would like to continue on.

well not necessarily but if obviously takes more shots with non-AP bullets if the enemy uses armor, still it's not impossible even a few well-aimed pistol shots do the trick. I like the fact that using AP bullets is more important when facing armored enemies personally.

It definitely feels more survivalist than vanilla CoP, for example finding food that isn't irradiated is hard which means you have to eat mutant meat most of the time and possibly cook it to minimize the effects of radiation or drink alcohol along it. also going through anomalies isn't just a matter of throwing a few bolts anymore, you'll get fucked up if you don't have the proper gear or drugs, and this goes for a lot of other things in the game like hunting psy-mutants, even a poltergeist can kill you simply by being near you if you don't have something to negate psy attacks.

after many posts about groza + pso, groza1+pso related crashes, i went over the files again.

it turns out I wasn't thorough enough when testing, as i play with -noprefetch on anyways
i didnt receive this error.

so I fixed the issue and re-uploaded a fixed version.

sorry for the inconvenience.

I still reccomend starting a new game as there may be remnants of groza+pso in your saves, which may or may not cause crashes
