How am I supposed to be group/spot healing in Nocturnal Sect? Diurnal feels very similar to WHM which is simple enough; throw out a HoT if someone takes off-target damage and AoE heal when AoE damage happens. But it feels like there's so much wasted potency with Nocturnal for anything other than tank healing. I can't toss out Aspected Benefic to spot heal because it does next to nothing for spot healing. If I Aspected Helios before AoE damage the heal is almost entirely wasted and the shield, as good as it is, doesn't soak enough for most attacks to let everyone sit at whatever health they end up at. I feel like I always have to use two heals to get people in a safe spot with Nocturnal whereas Diurnal generally takes one because the game's design compliments that healing style very well. You don't need everyone topped off all the time, you just need to throw out the initial heal and let HoTs do the rest of the work.

Pug healing is a wash where you need to adapt to your co-healer, so it doesnt really matter.

Optimal Nocturnal/WHM is AST doing the brunt of the GCD healing because of the passive 10% increase, while WHM spots with regens and oGCDs so both of them can DPS more often. Your goal is obviously to be healing as little as possible, which is kind of wonky as Noctural/WHM. Your party DPS gain comes from the lower healer DPS but access to cards, so don't feel that bad if you aren't throwing out as much as a WHM/SCH pair.

Daily reminder that people could make characters on balmung if only you faggots would log out when you sleep.

FFXIV really isn't a game i can play. Now that I've beat all the story and done all the dungeons all there is to do is raid content and honestly it's still so hard i can't even complete the binding coil of bahamut much less try to do the newer end game raid stuff. Sometimes mechanics are just way too ridiculous. I thought Titan EX was hard at one time but I've run that shit so much just to practice hoping it would increase my reflexes and prepare me for Coil and Alexander but all it did was make Titan EX seem easy in comparison.

I don't even want to look at Ravana, I still get people wiping on the regular Ravana by the stupid butterflies in the trials daily how would they get past the harder version.

every fight in this game has different mechanics, you can't practice one and think that will make you flawless at other fights

one thing you need to realise is that every boss fight follows a strict skill rotation, so naturally if you keep running the same shit over and over it's going to be fucking easy
think of it as practising for a dance, rather than training reflexes. some of the steps may target different people but the sequence is nonetheless the same
if you're unfamiliar with the sequence you're going to fuck up anyway, so the best chance you have at getting good is actually running said instance

I wish i could practice raid content mechanics solo, I hate running content with people when I'm the shitter holding everyone back. The reason i did Titan EX for reflex training was that i could be a shitter and nobody would notice because everyone else was a shitter along with me.
