I just bought Seige and I spent yesterday doing situations, and today doing MP. I play Thatch, IQ, Pulse, or Doc, and usually just follow my teammates' lead, but don't feel very helpful most of the time.
Doc feel useless unless you are holding down with a long killzone so as not to have you mates instantly double-tapped, and the others seem to need communication though my mates have not been very chatty.
Any pointres?

Should the ACOG be slightly nerfed? A blur or vignette at the edges of the screen or slightly slower movement speed while aiming could be decent options.
Alternatively they could keep working on making more than the holographic viable for the Nato sights by slimming down the frames or something.
Either way, I'd like for personal preference and playstyle to come into play a bit more with sight options, and I'm getting tired of looking through an Acog for half of the game.

I'd have to see it executed, but I feel like that'd just give it the best of both worlds: Good peripheral and high magnification. It might take more skill to reposition the sight if you're aiming at moving targets, but even then I doubt that would be detrimental enough to balance out having good peripheral vision. Most games have sight sway and such to make magnified optics less viable for run and gun, but that doesn't fit siege because:

The thing is ubisoft doesn't balance the game on a single platform, they apply the same balances on both console and PC. So, I think sights choice variates more in console since recoil management and aiming speed is less precise than while using KBM. I have heard people complaining about ACOGs in console and go with reflex or holo because of it's versitality since pixel headshots aren't easy on console.

Hell, using ACOGs in console can be a pain in the ass. I played siege on PC yesterday and after a couple of seconds I figured out recoil management on the C8 and the mp7, game felt so much better than in console that I'm considering prioritizing saving for a PC instead of saving for an offroader.

They made the effort of having different recoil between console and pc, they could probably just not implement a specific change on console during an update. The problem with Smoke is you basically see the canister coming at you, and by that time you are already reacting before it even goes off. It's primary good for blocking exits and killing time near the end of the round but that's really circumstantial.

He was a really powerful pick because of Shotgun + Pocket Sniper + Smoke Canisters + Nitrocell, but nowadays he's not that great a pick compared to someone who will have more guaranteed utility (Think Valk or Echo)

By "Spawnkilling" I mean spots where you can actually see and shoot at the exact spot the attacker will materialize in when the round begins. Every spawn point on Kanal has something between the spawn and the building that breaks line of sight.

Construction attackers spawn behind the yellow vehicle.
Floating dock is behind a massive concrete wall.
Sailboats is at the bottom of 2 sets of stairs and a concrete wall.

If you get killed by spawnpeekers it's because you either

>ran carelessly toward the building when you spawned
>lost an aim battle

None of these are "unfair" in my book.

Most objectives on Skyscraper rely heavily on vertical control. Have 3 people on the floor with the objective and two tasked with holding upstairs control for as long as humanly possible.

I always use his DMR. C8 is good but his DMR basically turns him into Canadian Glaz With a Shotgun. Switching from glorious semi-auto to Spooky Key feels incredible and the recoil on his DMR isn't too bad. You can fire pretty quickly and remain accurate as long as you control your aim accordingly. That being said both the C8 and the CAMRS are great so it's up to you. I just feel the Spooky Key goes really well with a long range gun.
