I liked EBA and Osu Takate Ouendan because they had a lot of expression for a rhythm game, it wasn't just correctly timing button presses to a song you had a whole story going on with manly as fuck guys (or cheerleaders) dancing in the background giving impact to you correctly playing the game, and the song is broken up with little cutscenes that vary depending on how well you were executing the song

with games like osu and rock band you're just mindlessly clicking to the beat.
