I think I put my finger on whats wrong with retail WoW and why it makes me wish I were playing real WoW instead. In past expansions (before Cata), you could escape the current high level craziness by rolling a new character and getting to experience the original game all over again, except going to Outland instead of doing MC or whatever. You cannot do that anymore. Low level zones are totally different, low level dungeons are gutted zergfests.

Retail leveling is just boring. In cata they made the quests more "interesting" but they made the actual act of killing mobs so easy you just blow through it. It's more interesting to struggle to kill 2 mobs at a time than it is to have some goofy ass scripting and vehicle nonsense

Well there is your first problem, as you know leveling in vanilla is tedious and if you don't enjoy something you will burn out by 30 so id recommend playing something else.

Warlocks are fun and do great damage however expect to be a bitch when doing dungeons why i quit my main lock when BC came out back on retail was sick of joining groups and seeing " Oh hey a warlock, start running! you can summon us all "

My suggestion is play an Orc shaman.
