Just for reference for anyone who does preorder going forward, order number 239743 was within 25 minutes of Rance preorders going on sale, 240126 is the most recent known one (which was fairly recent).

It looks like they are going to have Himawari and probably Moekuri between now and the Rance launch. Although the bulk of the sales for both of those should be on Steam (especially the latter), which should limit the impact on Rance some. They also have the Ozmafia hard copy going out on the 12th which will throw a monkey wrench into following the numbers since it charts differently than the digital downloads.

Ironically, Sill usually shines when she isn't with Rance. Partially, that could be because she's playing the "subservient slave that's bound by an Obedience Spell" angle but it really shows when she got kidnapped in I or joins up with Bird in II, that she's the one pulling her weight.

She did get a little doormat-y post-KR, but it's still there, like how she sneaks behind Rance's back in SR to swap out the poison with laxatives.

I don't think that the fanbase itself is that big; they're just really devoted. Which is probably enough for the game to sell decently even without Steam, but not enough for the game to have any noteworthy tail. It doesn't seem to have a lot of appeal to yuri fans outside of the fanbase. Not even Dynasty Scans is advertising it.

In any case, chances are, the bulk of the sales was made in preorders which is why Rance is outselling any Sono Hana purchases made in the actual launch week. The same could be true for Rance, but it'll probably have a long tail due to it being a sex-heavy gameplay title.

If anyone wants to know the current results, hanny drew 3-3 against 5naf, and twg beat aog 4-2. This means that hanny is at the borttom end of a 4-3-2-1 scoreline.

Given the goal differences between the sides hanny has to beat twg by at least 2 goals to have a chance to get in the top 2. However, I don't know what happens to the standings if two teams have the same goal difference, if it works like actual soccer, then the team with the highest goals for would get higher, which means hanny would be ahead of twg due to goals for, assuming a 2 goal win. However, if goal difference is determined at the end by past vg league results, hanny will be dicked by that, so if thats the case, we need a 3 goal win. (I think its the former)

Because technically, you aren't paying for adult content. I have played a fair amount of the Hannies in the FFA, and the way you have to play with them is interesting. Early on, you'll basically be relying on hannies the entire time, but thanks to Nozomi, and a certain hanny, you'll be able to slowly recruit more.

Sono Hana managed to stay somewhere around the first 3 places during its preorder period. I think Rance is likely to stay first since Himawari won't sell on the MG website at all (If it does well, it'll be on Steam).

The only think likely to knock Rance preorders out of first place would be Da Capo III preorders. The earliest for that would be the week before Rance releases.

Himawari won't need to do remarkably well on site to knock Rance out of first, because it's a weekly chart. There will be a period about a week out (especially by a week from Tuesday or Wednesday) where Himawari will have everything it does at launch counted in the weekly stats, while Rance VI won't have the benefit of the initial burst.

The earliest possible announcement I think would be to announce them at Anime Boston at the beginning of April for release in time by Anime Central in mid May. It is probably more likely they announce them at Anime Central to be on sale at AX at the beginning of July, which is what they did with Haruka this year.

Either way, I imagine they'll want to have hard copies printed to sell at AX and Otakon.

Just to update this, with another order number posted in that thread, the difference between a shortly after Rance went up for preorder and the most recent is up to 487.

That said, that isn't the same as saying "Rance has sold roughly 500 copies thus far", since while the majority if not vast majority, of those orders will include Rance, a non-trivial portion of those will be for other titles. There is a reason 3 OELVN titles round out the top 5, and Sonohana is still rather new.

Rance Quest pales in comparison to RQM, it's for that reason I put it in Fair tier. It's not bad in my opinion, but I can't say I think it's good either. I feel the same about STB and Toushin Toshi for various reasons. I liked all of them but they have obvious flaws.

I think Evenicle is a really good game, as are IV and 5D. They're good in different ways though. I also tend to rate 5D higher than most other people, I think.

Sengoku is indeed the only modern game I think is on the same level as KR and TT2. Rance IX was very good and definitely on the right track, judging by their recent trajectory I think Rance X will land up there barring some kind of horrible buggy release or development hell.

I will admit that I found Sengoku and KR more enjoyable overall than TT2, but I still think that TT2 is far and away the best traditional RPG Alicesoft has ever made, I enjoyed it more than Rance VI and RQM, of course that's saying something. There's a reason it's so highly rated in Japan, it even got a special disk and a 3DS remake.

As for TT3, I'm not really sure what you mean, there was no sequel to TT2, but if it did exist I'm sure it would be the greatest game ever.
