Dude, Anastasis was THERE all those years ago.
He's always been there. He was the one who decided to be apolitical before, he was the one who made those treaties.
He didn't want to get involved with politics. He didn't favor the empire, dalmasca, or ANY entity.

They wouldn't have included it in the description if they meant to imply it wasn't true. The writing in XII isn't so fleshed out that this kind of nuance can exist at this level of detail.

And offering knowledge to those who seek it is not picking a side. Raithwall gave him something to entrust to his descendants, and Anastasis agreed to keep it safe for him over the centuries.
In no way is this partisanism. He was a wise sage who refused to lie to somebody about history, and who made good on his promise.

His continued existence didn't threaten Vayne's Ivalice, and in fact he would have been a great asset. His death, however, caused horrible monsters to spring forth and forced people to rebuild, costing even more lives in the process.

Not to mention the sacking of a holy temple is in and of itself a reason to ramp up hostilities/rebellion. It's a dumb move, even ignoring the ethical issues.

The ONLY way to reconcile this fact with Vayne's heroism is to assume that Vayne disapproved of Bergan's actions.
But that, of course, leaves the question of why he didn't offer relief to the people as they tried to rebuild.

Also in response to your last bit, Bergan's actions weren't the results of orders from the True Hero. He likely saw that the kiltias was willing to endorse Ashe and help her, and decided on his own to correct this issue in the quickest and most direct way possible. While this ended up being an effective and useful solution, the True Hero likely had very little to do with the details of it.

For it to be 20 hours, you would need to plow through the main quest without glancing at sidequests or even driving a full circuit around Duscae.
Including most of the sidequests and optional dungeons, the main story should run 40~50 hours. Then add another 4~8 hours for post-game dungeons if you want and are strong enough.

If anything, the OPPOSITE is true. As long as the empire stays out of religious affairs, Kiltia have no reason to be upset. In fact, they have all the more reason to be compliant because Bur-Omisace is surrounded by the Empire's territory, and it's also in Jagd (meaning Archadean ships could help people make the dangerous pilgrimage safer). He could make strong allies with them, and his civilization could prosper culturally.

The only thing Anastasis did was tell Ashe where her great grandpaps hid the buried treasure. If Vayne had asked for help, he would have told him too. That isn't an "endorsement" from him, he had nothing else to even offer her.

If someone blew up Mecca or the Vatican, would you expect them to maintain civility with ANYBODY ever again?
Even if it was a rogue general acting on behalf of himself (as it was here), it would take a lot to convince the world you weren't responsible.

It also doesn't explain why Venat was there. Clearly Venat wanted them dead, so Vayne must have wanted it too.

Shame how the story played out but this game has amazing dungeons, Pitioss Ruins is probably the best dungeon in any game ever.

The story is super short and you shouldn't expect much from it. Dungeons bring this game close to 60 hours and if you do all the sidequests it goes 100+. They have lots of good content (endgame dungeons are amazing ) but I think the majority of people haven't even experienced it yet.

The kiltias was helping Ashe, knowing what she planned to do. There was also talk of him giving official acknowledgement to her claims to the dalmascan throne once she had a shard in her possession, which would've been fucking disastrous. Even without a direct endorsement helping her openly while keeping her intentions would be seen as endorsement by essentially everyone, which would have similar consequences. Just because he claims to be apolitical, and even just because his intentions are to be apolitical, does not mean that they are in effect or that others will see his actions as such.
What is there to suggest that he would give the same treatment to the True Hero? Are you actually suggesting that had he asked, the kiltias would've told him where the sword was? And how is it supposed to be better because he treats equally, without regard to politics? Treating unequal things as equal is as much an injustice as treating equal things as unequal.

There's no misinterpretation. Much of Bergan's actions were his own and not orders. While his presence there does suggest that the True Hero had some job for him that the other judges would not have done, this job was much more likely the interception of the main party while still allowing for Larsa's complete safety, or at most the assassination of just the kiltias.
Venat is not controlled by the True Hero in any way, and the implication that she is is almost laughable. Perhaps she had her own plans for Bergan, but it's more likely that she was just there to observe the effects of the nethecite in him or potentially she intended to lend him extra power if necessary until it was realized that the nethecite would destroy him anyways.

I have Lightning and a Zidane so 2 innate DWs for me. And Zidane is 90% of the way to DW so either one moogle or I grind him out for the last 5-10% for the two 5% moogles this month gets me a DW and then I start working on my 3 Excaliburs/Black Cowl/Save the Queen or Ribbons.

Chain Biora was mainly for the mastery, though it would have been nice to have an extra hone since she was doing ~14-16k per use and was still at 80 for the fight. But yeah, my hones in general aren't so hot because I tend to only play on and off.
If I had Cloud's RM3 I might have been able to have more of my party survive because I got Lenna's Medica off too late.

figured it out after awhile. android is glitchy with facebook friend integration so you have to borrow/emulate ios install exvius and invite friends in ios that you know already have exvius installed under the facebook tab. restart the app in ios and go to the facebook tab and wait for the list to refresh. after that all your friends should show up and you can ditch ios and head back to android and claim your rewards (since ios lapis is seperate just like amazon). there are facebook groups full of people who add each other for this reason.

I think the biggest problem me (and a lot of players) have with the draw system is that there is way too much emphasis on its "all or nothing" style of drawing. You either get something useful, or you get fuck all and basically feel like shit for wasting valuable resources. There is no middle ground in BE; you either got the newest hot/fresh meme or you got a steaming bedile of shit.

I saw someone say somewhere not to sell valuables because they are used later for upgrades. Is there a list of what items need to be kept and which can be sold?

Generally yes, you keep using the normiebook account to reset your save everytime you get a shitty draw (expect to do it a lot).

Ideally its best to go through this whole resetting for a good start process when some kind of great event is going on with lots of starter rewards or boosted draw rates or a really good banner. It might make more sense to wait until christmas or new years or something, they might have something fun planned.

Not sure if it's still going, but for a bit in JP they were giving out a bunch of lapis and tickets along with the starter 5k, so rerolling was really effective at the time.
You can still reroll on NA, you just get less rolls per start due to the 5k not being available yet.

JP has a fixed system that GL hasn't gotten yet where the draw rate for 3* units is evened out (right now GL has a higher rate on shitty 3* units like Shadow over good ones like Exdeath) and the crystal type determines the base level a character can be (gold crystals are always 4* bases and rainbows are always 5* which isn't the case in GL right now)

Pretty much. When rerolling you should aim for a 5* base, but there are a lot of 3* and 4* base units who can keep up and in certain circumstances are even better.

To make a good account, you're gonna want a good unit from each different role.
For attackers, the good ones (or soon to be good) are Gilg/Luneth/Lightning/Chizuru in that order of usefulness.
These are also the rarest, so base your rerolls on getting them.

For tanks, you NEED a Cecil. He's the most mandatory unit in the game. Nothing can do what he does, and content is balanced assuming you have him.

For healers, Refia is the best, but Cecil can fill this role for a while. She also boosts the party's attack/def and can revive units, both of which you will definitely need eventually.

For Full Breakers, any except Sazh/Ingus are nice, with special emphasis on WoL and Agrias (they become godtier units later on).
Vaan is also decent.

For mages, only Exdeath matters so far. Terra is okay later on, but not better than him even then. You don't necessarily need a mage if you got a good physical unit.

Barrage actually deals more damage than crushing blow (even with chaining, we've been over this), and his attack isn't too much lower that this makes a difference.
(specifically Delita hits 503 ATK, she hits 512 with reasonable equips. Luneth hits 543, he's in a different ballpark).

So Light only does 90.659% of the damage as Delita with dual wield, but Luneth does 121.39% more (and it can be chained).

If I hated FFXIII but really liked I-VII, IX and X would I like FFXV at all? I watched that FFXV movie and some gameplay and they got me interested in giving it a shot. The world seems pretty interesting and it looks like they put a lot of care into the game, but I'm just not as into JRPGs as I was when I was a kid so I'm on the fence.

Is the FFXIV event actually as good as the rep it gets? I've been looking at the banners and every banner seems to get an OSB, except the XIV banner doesn't and gets 3 BSBs instead.

FFXV is not really like FFXIII at all. It's pretty action-y combat that gets kinda grindy towards the end when they just start increasing enemy HP bars and not giving them new strategies, but other than that, it's a very fine game.
Though, as far as the world being interesting, you won't get shit for info on the setting. They really, really gloss over the details. You know there's a magic king, a crystal, a ring, some gods, etc. but the what and why of it gets tossed to the side. It's just a fact of life to them so it seems they're not going to talk about it. In fact nobody seems to actually know what the crystal does or what the king is supposed to do. Noct is pretty much winging the whole damn thing from chapter 2 onwards, with no more instruction than "collect royal arms" and "meet the gods".

By blowing his arm TFO he apparently gave me his "favor". Now I'm going to get Ramuh and apparently the entire team has completely forgotten about the whole luna/tomb quests and the new goal is to go becoming a summoner?

What the actual fuck happened? This was not explained at all.

It's the effects the XIV relics have.

Y'shtola's BSB is a medica on cast with a damage shield (and healing commands), and Thyrus is on the banner too for anyone who still needs a Wall.

Minfilia's BSB is an enholy with holy commands that also function as Breakdowns, and she gets a Shout (with Guts (survive the next fatal blow) instead of Hastega), too.

Alphinaud's BSB is self-sufficient with a magic Powerchain command (zero cast time on next spell) and an ability restore command. Plus, it counts as Summon which avoids some BLK-specific counters; a small utility, but still there. His SSB is a ATK/MAG boost with a damage reflect barrier.

Papalymo has the best magical Shout yet- the usual big MAG boost and Hastega but casting time is reduced for three turns for everyone which means they do even more damage faster.

Literally the weakest draws are Y'shtola's standard Medica and her Protectga/Shellga/Heavy Regen.

It's just a ridiculously stacked banner with a ton of utility in one place; it has every piece of the "trinity", being Medicas, Hastegas, and some kind of major Boostga, and some extra new meta stuff besides.

(The second banner isn't nearly as good and it still has two enfire BSBs, an imperil fire BSB, and a Crit Rate boost)

Not that OSBs aren't good, but they don't come with a lot of utility beyond heavy damage and are usually best saved for the later stages of a fight to skip dangerous weak phases.

Yes, you can outpace your enemies badly. However, there is endgame and postgame content that you cannot overpower with sheer statistics.

Several times you will be given warnings that you cannot return for a while (usually 20-30 minutes of playtime through a dungeon or locked region), however, there is no true point of no return. Noctis eventually can go backwards in time thanks to a dog, and no, it isn't justified in any way. It just lets you go back to the region you 'should' be locked out of to continue your sidequests.

(Though there is one extended period where you are forbidden from using the dog, a long and honestly terrible solo-dungeon with Noctis. Once that's through you can go back as much as you like, of course.)

Rarely in a fight the surrounding area will go dark, sparkles will fill the air, and the music will change to something ominous. You will be given a prompt to hit L2: Summon.
Hold L2 for 5~8 seconds while not getting hit by enemies, and a god will effortlessly wipe out your current encounter.

Don't be surprised if you never actually accomplish a summoning outside of the guaranteed Ramuh chance you get, because it's not common, and it's actually quite difficult to channel for so long.
