Loran Darkbeast isn't actually that bad once you get the hang of him. The Undead Giants are the real worst bosses, because they have bullshit OHKO AoEs, way too much health, and an astonishingly uninspired design to top it off. At least Loran Darkbeast (and Paarl, by extension) has an interesting design. Undead Giant is just a big dead guy.

Undead Giants are tremendously slow, though, and their attacks are pretty well telegraphed. Cannon variants have 2-3 attacks at most when you stick close to them, and the ball and chain variants just require some patience. To each his own, but I think Darkbeasts are far worse.

I'm considering a playthrough of BB at the moment. I usually do Arcane builds, but I was considering not using Arcane this time. How do I ramp up my build quickly, like how you farm for cursed fire gems in F2 of the first chalice dungeon? It's been so long since I've done a different build that I don't really recall a quick way to do so.

Physical builds can rush Chalice dungeons early and get obscenely powerful gems, 20.3% is the best you can get early-game. Unlike Arc it's not nesisary though, just a nice damage boost. Just play the game and use the plethora of physical gems avalible.

BLT build's want to rush first DLC area, kill Simon for Bow Blade, then rush Logarius for Chikage, then Maria for Bloodletter. After that use best tempering gems you can find until you muster up the will to go full Korean.

Why do they attack you but not the literal beasts right next to them? TOH fixed this a bit but it's a tad absurd. Now that I mention it, why hunters so damn strong without turning into beasts. Are yharnamites just made of weaker stuff than hunters?

It's primarily for the loot.
And to enhance the multiplayer and community aspect of BB.

It's a different take on getting high-level equipment .
Rather than getting sick of the main game, by playing it over and over, up to NG+3 with the same character just to get a +3 Clockwise Metamorphosis Rune.

You can just go through the dungeons for it, and get other loot of the same high-rank, in an evening, if you're prepared for it.

And most likely needing help along the way.

Gehrman basically tells you, if you want to have a better time in the main game you should go to the dungeons for the loot. And that there is no shame in summoning in the Chalice Dungeons. (Which plays a role in the community aspect)

Alright. First of all you need to lock what kind of chalice the glyph has, there are foetid, rotten and cursed dungeons. Once you break a rotten chalice, you get access to all the rotten glyphs of that specific chalice you break. Once you do it for foetid, you get acces for all foetid ones etc.
But what you actually want to do is break a chalice with ALL the rituals and then you have access to all the specific glyphs of chalice.

I was thinking today about how I love all the Souls games, including Bloodborne, and how what features could have improved this game, which is my favorite in the series. Here's what I came up with:

>Make chalice dungeon completion shared across all characters to reduce the tedium involved in rolling new characters
>More than four character slots
>Improvements to the online system on a technical level: things like making SRRC less painful, making it so that running around in a level with your bell ringing doesn't affect or prevent connectivity if you're using a password, etc.
>The ability to rewatch boss opening cutscenes, though this one is very minor

Wheel is fine on a Strength build. Just Get 50 STR meet the ARC req, and then fill it with Temperings if you're lazy or Blunts if you're cool.

I'd recommend going 50/25/25 so that you can use the HMLS on the same build, because wheel is kinda shit.

50/25/14 is fine, it's just that your moonbeams will do shit for damage and some attacks that lean more towards Arc will be lacking. It's still great, however: it's just not the most effective it could be.

Go 50/25/14 and fill it with Temperings. Just don't use the R2s for the beams: they're fine as long as you hit with the blade.
