Because kludging DH into HoI4 has apparently fucked up some game mechanics.

Like, alright, you really want your political pie chart to have more than four colors. In DH, ideologies still had affinities towards one another- a Market Liberal government liked a Social Conservative government more than a Stalinist government, because ML and SC were close to each other in the ideological spectrum.

Shoved into HoI4, these ideological divisions keep none of their affinities- an ML government has a -20 malus with a SC government, the same malus it has with a Leninist (or Syndicalist in KR) government. Diplomacy wasn't improved; more governments just hate each other a little more now. The Union of Britain starts off in HoI4 KR liking the Commune of France just as much as it likes the German Empire, because they're both ideologically different. That's bad, dumb design, an attempt to recreate DH without actually tackling any of the gameplay mechanic differences between the two games.

And that's just one specific issue out of several I got an issue with the newest iteration of KR.

It would involve a lot of multinational business interests so I don't want to narrow it down to any specific culture right from the get go, like I said though there'd be a lot of anglos involved since Britain rules the waves and American investors are so interested in the Pacific in the timeframe.

I'm planning event routes and a storyline to go down so the theocracy stuff is no problem if it comes to it.

And now that I'm thinking about it, fascism would probably be somewhere between South African apartheid and New World populism since by the time it comes around the natives will probably have been outbred and largely wiped out by European immigrants and Chinese indentured labourers.

The big ethnic issue by that point would probably be similar to the North American west coast with the Chinese.

How do I make money better in EU4? I had one merchant collecting at my main trading post and then another transferring from another, so I think that was set up the best it could be. Should I be building churches and markets every single time when I have a chance? I feel like that's where I fucked up, now I'm scrambling to build more and I'm already in debt so it's not enough to make up for my loans.

I also think I spent too long on one war so my army maintenance slider was high for a while and I'm in a struggle to find balance between my reinforcements and budget.

But is there anything big that I'm missing? Any other way to make money?

In the canton you have the Southern Cross, which is a common symbol in many Oceanic and Pacific countries (I took this one from Samoa).

The blue triangle represents the general shape in which the Polynesian islands are set on the Ocean.

The black thing with the words Pax, Ars and Jus (Peace, Art and Justice, if my latin doesn't fail me) come from the Royal Niger Company flag the British used in Nigeria. I know it has nothing to do with this but I liked the way it looked with the triangle.
