No villain/hero split. Goro's role was to be someone who'd instigate the distortion of the masses, Joker was to oppose him (and only because he happened to have the qualities to make him the "trickster" Igor thought would be able to genuinely change people, and the game worked as an excuse for him to set up Joker to drive him into despair and ensure he wouldn't be able to be a threat to him). The "destroy the world and remake it"/"let the world remain" stuff was just what Yaldabaoth was going to do depending on who won (which ultimately didn't matter, since either way he was setting things up to have the public wish for a ruler and empower him with that desire).

The whole game was a farce and never intended to be winnable for Joker, just a convenient way to set him up for the fall while pushing Goro to do his intended job.

What happened was that I ended up moving when I purchase these magazines with ANOTHER magazine that has 40+ pages per chapter on top of 30+ pages from this magazine not including Persona. So I get lazy. But I'm going to stop that. The Goro thing isn't meant to be a shock. He antagonizes your group the entire fucking game. They make it clear during the interrogation scene that you already worked out he was the traitor, the reveal is that you planned in advance, not that it was him.

Not really. He rarely calls them by name, I remember he only ever called Makoto, Futaba, and Joker by the first names. It's not seen as that strange as he is the oldest out of all of them. Much like how Yu calls Naoto, Rise and Kanji by first name but calls Chie and Yukiko by last name.

Goro's only with the thieves a short while and never really intergrates into the group completely (typically they're uneasy during their intro dungeon but open up in the scenes after beating it, where as Goro immediately ditches the team after his dungeon) so that's understanable.

He only really interacts with Protag and Makoto for the most of the game.

No he doesn't. He avoids using names for the party at all most of the time (aside from codenames when in dungeons), and when he does it's last names with honorifics. The only ones he calls by first name are Futaba (who he calls by name only once in his rank 4 co-op, where he calls her "Futaba-chan" because of her age), Morgana (who only has one name, so he calls him "Morgana-kun") and Joker before his first boss fight (where he uses his first name with no honorific). He also calls Makoto "Sae-san's little sister" instead of any sort of name pretty often.

Aside from the party, he calls Sae "Sae-san," Shidou is "Shidou-san" if he's talking to him and gets no honorific (and usually the full name) when he talks about him to others), and he always calls Soujirou by his title as the cafe's master.

True. Feels a bit weird to include that kind of detail in a one-off, easy to overlook line, but that's probably a better way to look at it than "maybe it's an error." Would make some sense too, since Makoto's easily the nicest toward him (excluding Joker) in story- and Mementos dialogue and he's known her a bit longer than the others, so maybe the later parts of the casino were just enough to make him switch to first person basis around her like Sae.
