A few different reasons. Unless you're an Earthmemer which is a tiny minority, DShift is the way everyone builds Rune compared to the other three top classes (Forest/Sword/Haven) having at least two popular different variants, possibly 3. It hard counters control decks, yes. And it's just a unique playstyle that means people who want to play it for that aspect aren't going to find it anywhere else.

Man, as much as I hate Elana when it goes off, watching Elanas that don't is painful. The deck seems so fucking inconsistent, its tools for getting its cards are so shit compared to DShift and it doesn't have the luxury of redundancy that Control Sword or Control Shadow get.

They need to weaken the perfect curve version of it and give it some tools so that it's less swingy. It just seems so poorly designed as it is.

Constantly going on 3-5 game streaks or the rare 5-10 game streak is a good sign. I was on a 30+ streak before losing my first game in A1. I pretty much just grind in 1-2 hour sessions and aim to hit 1000 points each session

Ancient elf is a glue that keeps elves together and it doesn't even need to go face or do any damage.
On curve it's a good ward.
If bounces back just 1 or two fairies it's way ahead of curve and is a big threat that needs to be answered, usually in a less cost efficient way (it's only 3PP, remember).
Bouncing back by itself is a great fucking thing for elves as it allows them to reuse fairy generators, may, roach and set up all the "needs extra cards" spells like tia and even card draw.

Those are some good cards. But yea, when I got Seraph in T2, I had some amazing luck getting a whole bunch of wards + countdown reducers + healing. 5-0, four of the games with me going first. No problems. I never normally play Haven but that shit was insane.

There's no way they can do that without pushing so many new cards at once that the old ones become obsolete, so pretty much redesigning the class. It's much more plausible that they cut power from elsewhere.

Maybe in lower ranks anon but in AA no one runs pure elana anymore, most of the time you just lose the game in turn 9 since they have either hallowed dogma, sister initiate and the spell that heals and reduce cooldown. I really enjoy playing control sword but I might just switch to midrange again if I want to climb to master.

The opponent may have the impression that I'm using goblins because I'm flooded with 1 drops and thus ultra-aggressive (3vans/3quickbladers/3gobs) or I'm actually slower than usual due to avant blader tech. It's not anything substantial really

The silly one I like to do is 3x unica in blood aggro. It's a great 2 drop and heals me out of range of other aggro decks sometimes my own burn spells(which hurt me too). A lot of people assume I'm control blood and start slowing down a little too and then I drop vamp fortress to mindfuck them

It's silly stuff you do at masters sometimes. Look at this jackass with 1.4k masters points yesterday using a shield angel. Masters players are very silly people

This list does have a shitty Storm match up so keep that in mind when playing against Haven, but I rarely lose to Elana. Undying Resentment and Spirit Cycle are the all-stars in the match up. Against a lot of decks Spirit Cycle's too big of a tempo loss but it does amazing work after an Elana drop or a Themis. It's hard control though, not Midrange, so you really need to understand your match ups and what to remove.

I'm in AA0 and my Seraph-Hybrid match up is easier than my Elana match up. They run a lower quality of followers than Traditional Elana so it's easier to remove them, the only time it's problematic is the Aria into Dogma on 3 turn, but it's not an auto loss.

My best memory is when I played Odin not realizing it was hybrid, so he played out his Seraph, and I had a second Odin. Some turns later he got out his third Seraph, and I went Rise into Odin because I hadn't hit Olivia yet.

I don't, I almost always lose the match up unless I perfect curve into Cerberus/Phantom Howl. As mentioned I'm negative against Storm as well, though not nearly as badly as DShift. The deck's designed to snipe Forest, Sword and Elana. Bats and Face Dragon are about even for the remaining relevant match ups.

It's a ladder climbing deck so I designed it with my most common match ups in mind, I just accept the losses.

I like the Rose Queen plan a lot better than the Bolt plan personally. Her turn 9 is 12 cap damage up from 9 and she leaves a body on the board and versatile removal, it'll also hurt you less to run her since you don't have to hold hand as long as you have the fairies you're running either way and if you draw her without Wolf she seems less likely to fuck you.

I think the Forest legendary is getting way too much love though. The deck's bound to run a similar core to PtP for all the control and advantage tools, and I can't imagine it being better than PtP is right now.

Well, its not really inaccurate. Unlike all the other control decks with clear wincons, Control Sword just aims to grind the enemy down until they give up, which is something that Midrange Sword partly does.
