I just installed al9h in my o3ds and moved my old emuNAND to it following the guide.
now I need to update it to perform a system transfer to a second console but each time I try to update it I get the black screen with "an error ocurred" message.

How do I do custom themes on n3ds with A9LH? is there a better alternative than CHMM yet?

If I were to run the homebrew launcher via loadiine and then reove the sd card and delete it from said SD card, could I then re-insert the SD card and still run the WUP (brazilian method) installer?

Shove them into the console via sysdowngrader in update mode and once done you should be able to finish a normal update. You could do it by hand with fbi if you really wanted to, socketpunch that shit in.
Sometimes they need a good kick after downgrades, though my AP was being a shitter at the time as well, either way problem solved.

If on 9,2 i recommend 9.6 as i know for a fact that worked out.

They use yellows8's extensive update database to download a list of firmware modules in the same way one would download a game, they then package the pieces into ready to install .cia files.
A firmware for 3ds is made of several .cia, one for each part. You can now either use socketpunch and fbi to send them wirelessly or place them in the updates folder (empty it first) in the root directory of the sd card and use sysdowngrader.
Either way thats the latest USA o3ds firmware and unlike official sysupdates we don't have to play by the rules, force that thing in there.
In the event that doesn't work just grab a 9.2 ctrnand from the downgrade guide and install that, make a backup first.

I bought the "Legends of exidia" DSIware game, but when I try to run it I get pic related.
even when I reinstall it, I always get this error.

You have to download the theme from wherever, and most likely extract it into a folder to get the tool to pick it up though. It's a bit more convoluted than CHMM2 but it's up to you which you prefer using.

I have a9lh and luma 3DS but I dont get the option to "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" but instead have something that says "Enable game patching" and it doesnt work after I've placed the prepatched code.bin in the code_sections folder on my SD card. What do you mean? You don't need to update oras at all. What you do is you stick alpha Sapphire or whatever in your 3ds with homebrew launcher and no oras update installed. Install it for the target 3ds firmware. Then stick it in the target 3ds to test that it works.
