Just had a strange occurrence on Cobalt.

So i'm stomping around in my NC Max suit, in the middle of a surprisingly large battle for the timezone.

Suddenly a VS heavy comes around the corner, lifts his Orion and absolutely strips my armour and health off in a fraction of a second; full health, max small-arms armor resist and I didn't have time to fire a single shot at him, by the time my brain registered that he was there I was fully dead.

He absolutely melted me and it wasn't even headshots to my knowledge.

What's going on there? I've never been downed so fast just from one person firing one small-arms weapon.

They can't nerf vehicle AI weapons until they nerf/fix Medkit spam.

It really is as simple as that, nerfing the weapons first is tantamount to removing them from the game, you'll never get kills because (extremely high skilled) players will press their "I can't be killed at all" button while running back to spawn.

I hate airshitters as much as anyone but i'm not so far up my own arsehole that I think I should be allowed to utterly invalidate their gameplay.

With medkits nerfed the way is now open to nerf the very weapons we're all crying about and it will come, trust me.

if you want to farm infantry get proxy radar and heat or HE rounds. farming other vehicles is a bit trickier, for poptarting (peaking out from cover and quickly moving back to cover) you want rival chas and either front or side armor. for flanking you want vehicle stealth and racer chas.

Seriously, a 25% vs 40% alert win ratio for NC vs VS should be pretty fucking clear. There is something seriously wrong with NC and whatever the issue is, it has persisted for years. A few more nerfs to NC won't change fucking anything at this point.

And if werl ever actually buffs NC, I fully expect reddit to rage like fuck because it's no longer an easily farmed faction. NC maxes now get the shit shot out of them when closing range AND when falling back, during which time the NC max has barely any DPS output itself.

Other faction MAXes maintain their DPS while closing or don't have to close in the first place so they aren't affected except for the shitters who used charge as a solo-escape when they fucked up.

I don't know what the fuck is going on with Cobalt at the moment but my MAX suit is absolute fodder to everyone, not because of the removal of charge but because it seems like I have no small-arms resistance at all. Stray bullets from across courtyards fired at someone else are blasting 20-30% of my armour off, just from full-auto weapons, not archers.

Just got absolutely wrecked, sub 1second ttk at 60m to a fucking trac-5 and it's been happening all day. They can't be cheating, there's clearly something wrong with my MAX.

You can, especially since a lot of "elite" "pro" "skilled" players hop into the game off-hours in small 1-12 and 12-24 fights when the server load is low and medkits are reliable, and they can more easily abuse whatever force multipliers without being taken out by a good flanking push by "shitters".

Basically, this change positively effects gameplay for 99.99% of the playerbase, and negatively effects it for not even a tenth of a percent.

P.S. Actual skilled players just roll with the punches and adapt instead of whining. A number of you got fat and lazy with your easy medkit spam.

I've played almost exclusively infantry since beta 2 and never used fucking medkits.

It's beyond stupid to think that high level players magically balance a faction when they compose less than 1% of the players in the faction. The main problem from my perspective in only in small fights; we had this one nigger from LPS flying around like an autist, blowing the fuck out of everything with his hornets and there is basically nothing the recieving end can do to stop it. When we're attacking or defending a base I'm almost assuredly glued onto the ass of a max because they need constant babying to survive. MAX SUIT CO-OP ABILITIES!

Overview:
Special abilities afforded to MAX suits which can only be activated when within 5m of a squad-member MAX suit also equipped with the same ability. They are not on timers, they are one use per suit, restockable at console. Either MAX activating their ability activates it for both players.

TR:
Upon activation MAX suits are granted double bullet velocity and a small bonus against vehicle armor for a short period of time. This duration is determined by how many suits had their ability activated. Excess noise and pressure created by the more powerful weaponry creates a concussive effect around the MAXes.

VS:
Upon activation MAX suits gain an arcing plasma effect linking all suits together and lashing out around them, dealing heavy damage to infantry or vehicles struck by the arc. While active the MAX suits may sprint 17.5% faster but gain no bonus to normal movement speed. The duration of the arcing effect is determined by how many suits had their ability activated.

NC:
Upon activation MAX suits emit a short-duration electromagnetic pulse, interfering with the shields and abilities of infantry up to 8m from the MAX and inverting the controls of vehicles up to 20m from the MAX. The duration and range of the disruptive effect is boosted by how many suits had their ability activated. This pulse does not destroy deployables but does hinder their operation.

These abilities affect and hinder friendly infantry and vehicles, thus necessitating that any friendly engineers retreat to a safe distance before activation.

Gorgons are fucked from the get-go due to the way the game is designed.

Gorgons cannot be buffed because they are NS; as it stands right now TR maxes can go dual-gorgon with lockdown and then they're actually pretty fucking good, like a basilisk+1 that can go anywhere and be super adaptable.

Unfortunately the VS and NC don't have "Press button, make gun better" so they get absolutely fucked because the baseline gorgon is shite, it's only the TR ability which makes them good, without it they aren't even equal to a single bassie, let alone better than.

But then obviously you can't BUFF the gorgon because then the TR will have the buffed gorgon and still use lockdown, making it even better, dare I say it putting the weapon into overpowered territory.

You can't buff only the VS and NC versions either because that would be unfair, then they would have useable gorgons while still being able to move while the TR have to lockdown. So you can't get around it that way.

In summation, thank the TR for your shitty gorgons and why they will never be buffed and thank DBG for not knowing even the most basic shit about game design.

Lockdown really isn't as great as you're making it out to be. It invites deci's. No-one will miss them if you're locked in. You're also an extremely easy explosives target.

Lockdown is mostly useful for pounders because you can ramp up the level of indirect splash you dish out, to skirt around corners. Anything else, and they'll get the deci off and escape before death.

50% extra DPS after standing still for a second is nothing, it's utterly inconsequential in all metrics.

It's so pointless that there's only one weapon which inconsequentially profits from it, nobody uses it because having the DPS of a third gun magically appear out of nowhere isn't worth anything at all.

I would far rather have an ability which slows me down, stops me from being able to fire and still allows me to be shot in the head frontally, that is so much better than a free extra 50% DPS.
