I did it the shitter way. I first tried to get it during fucking Iron Banner, and got up to 50% on a seriously hot streak then lost it all. Not saying that they couldn't make it a proper open world game, but it would require them to invest more into servers than what they are probably ready to pay for, unless they want to have a monthly sub or be even heavier on the cash shop.

Those are two very different games handled in a very different way. Final Fantasy 14 holds majority of the world data server-side, and has a direct server-client communication. You're also looking at a character limit of 60-120 characters per instance.
Destiny has no world data server-side, majority of communication is handled peer to peer with only metadata being communicated to the server. Not to mention character limit is capped off at 16.
It also helps to keep in mind that the XIV chungs not due to world size, but because of the sheer amount of data the GPU and CPU have to handle when an area is flooded with characters, I've been in the odin fights.

I understand where you're coming from, anon, I may be a worthless human being but if there's anything I know, I know game development and netcode, trust me when I say this, world size has no bearing on it, you're mistaking world size for network traffic but the data being communicated at any point is minimal, the game is not communicating the state of the entire world with the server, the size of an area doesn't matter.

Well for that you'd have to have been around for FF14 (Before Realm Reborn which you're calling FF14) The maps were absolutely massive, but because they were made in the crystal engine, a toolset designed purely for single-player games (Namely Fabula Nova Crystalis saga) they were fairly limited in the amount of individual resources that could be used by any individual instance, so while incredibly large the maps were heavily copy-pasted, another problem was that, since it was a tool made for single-player games, it could only handle rendering 24 "actors" at a time. That means a mix of only up to 24 Players, NPCs, Enemies, and non-environment environment (Placed decorations like tents, fires, torches, particle emitters, etc...) They also held entirety of the user interface server-side which caused horrible input lag of 2-14 seconds depending on how the server felt.

When they decided to restructure the game, they chose to make a modular devkit that could handle quick changes to environments and rapid content creation but their primary design philosophies were.

1: It can handle a large amount of players.
2: It can hold unique environments (So, no more copy-pasted environment tiles for miles on end)

The way they decided to handle both of those, among other things included instanced gameplay (in 14 each of the 3 regions was one large map with only cities and primal areas being instanced even dungeons were open world)
The first thing they focused on is balancing the player count, since they planned on having numerous roaming bosses which scaled difficulty with player count, they decided on fairly large player count, to accommodate a large amount of players and enemies being rendered at any one time the area size and level of detail took a hit.

Even on PC its not the greatest optimization, but on consoles its just a horrible port, they did next to no optimization to it.

Aksis phase 2 is just impossible

It punishes every slip up, and there's no way you can pick up the slack for your team or recover from a hit unlike the other raids. It truly is artificial difficulty.

Worst of it is the empowerment part where it switches between guardians and before the team can recordinate he's already teleported away

I beat kingsfall a couple times and then dropped it because of shit like this, never dared to put myself through hard mode.

Why couldn't the raids be more like VOG? Reasonably Challenging and fun to run through?

Is there any info on SRL? or is it gonna just be two fuking maps.

ARs got gutted again and we also have artifacts that actually change game mechanics as well as actually useful raid weapons and armor that kick the shit out of fallen are and excellent for pve and pvp overall

Vault of Glass was by far and away the best raid the game has and ever will see

Yeah but range usually isn't an issue on scout rifles at all, I have a DIS 47 with HLS and it's base range is about the same as the Distant Star and I only get damage falloff if I'm trying to shoot someone from literally across the map. I'd personally take that over an 11 round magazine, but to each their own.
