I do think the new nests have become increasingly dumb and easy. Everything has big red AOE markers to show you where it's going to hit, there's no more learning stomp and timings because the entire floor lights up every time you need to jump, bosses are slower and have more and longer telegraphs. Now the hard nests like IDN are more about ridiculous gear requirements than making it through on practice and player skill.

Also forgot to add they made pots OP so they heal you a ton. The only reason to be spamming them is if ya bad/grinding at a way higher level places than you should be. But doing the quests should get you to level 50 easy. From ya play style you would want to pick mage then go bard. They are support class that can buff and can do dmg as they rock out on their mandolin. Then you become a maestro that summons a band to do dmg and buffs.

Speaking of the auction, the auction rates from people are so dumb right now, as the prices for items are about three times the price they were back in 2013.

Played for 4 hours, got to level 66 in LaTale. I thought it would be faster. But maybe it was because I was fucking around doing scenario quests for my class.

I think I'll drop Card Master and make a Dragoon or Holy Order. I've always liked spears but I also want to try a sword and board class at least once. Which of them has an easier class leveling up and which one is better while being unfunded?

There is this problem with current mmos, when if you want to play with some of your friends, and you are little bit behind starting zone, you need to go back or wait for your friend.

You are over his level, and currently doing different chain of quests, which is still in the future for your friend, so you need to "synchronize", and then play together and go on the same path as everyone else in this stupid railroad mmo.

And even if you "synchronize" and play with your friend, it still feels pretty stupid, because there is no need for cooperation. The game basically dont change a bit when you are playing with friends or not... the only difference is that mobs are dying quicker, and there is more people hitting mobs and more special effects... you can also have some fun over chat or skype, but this you can do even without this game.

Just stupid bunch of friends, talking via skype or whatever, doing the same thing over and over, and running the same chain of quests as everyone else.

And beside this, there are dungeons and bosses, where you actually need group... but thats all. You need fucking group and you will not die, because boss now has more targets, and when you have group, he goes from Very Hard to Very Easy - and again, no fun. Just bunch of friends gangbanging one boss who cant do a thing against multiple targets, because they all have 100+buffs, regenerations, boosted attributes and god knows what else.

Yes. I did played only f2p mmos, and I will not play any others. But are there any which doesnt suffer from these problems and are actually challenging and fun? Which need some cooperation with other players etc, and are still alive?

That's a problem in itself. Leveling in MMOs are horrible be it doing quests or grinding. End game content is normally too easy or too much of a grind, or even worse limits you on things like dungeon entries or pvp only during certain times.

The entire idea of "leveling to an endgame" is flawed to begin with. If you have levels in your game, they should serve an actual purpose in terms of gameplay, not just arbitrarily gate you out of content. Most of the best level-based games had no level-gating. You could theoretically go anywhere at any level, and often, reaching the maximum level wasn't even possible for any but the most hardcore players.

I envision the ideal MMO to be one with very few levels, which each allow you to tune your character, rather than simply strengthen it. As such, it should also be one where, in any content, even a level 1 character can be useful. It should be worth it to bring level 1 newbies along on your grinds or your rare monster hunts or your raids.

Seriously, though, the "leveling phase" is the dumbest MMO concept I could ever dream of. You spend thousands of man-hours and millions of dollars making art and enemies and lore and quest for all these areas that your players will visit for an hour and NEVER see again. Sometimes near to a hundred unique areas, all thrown away during a 2-week leveling phase. Then they reach cap and there are 10 dungeons to do, maybe a raid. What the fuck is the point? Wouldn't you have been better off actually USING that content for something?

Fucking MMO companies, I swear. Everything they do is counter-intuitive. They saw the random, lucky success of a few big hitters and assumed that that was the way things were done. They're all following some invisible rulebook and completely ignoring common sense.

Exactly, that's just as annoying. You go through this tedious leveling phase expecting a big payoff at cap and, not only is there hardly any content to begin with, what little content there is is just reskins. It's insulting.

And it's just like, why did you have a leveling phase in the first place? Was it seriously necessary? Wouldn't you be better off having your players fully-immersed in the ACTUAL GAME rather than making them do two weeks of busywork and rewarding them with nothing? If you could have removed that leveling phase and used those leveling areas for actual fucking content, you would have ended up with an MMO with more content and depth than almost anything on the market today.

Story was entertaining but once you reach cap it isn't fun. Dungeons are still easy as in you literally can't die but everything has more health so it takes longer to finish.
Raids are somewhat fun but it's a weekly thing. Same with dailies, some are fun to do and some aren't.
If I had to describe DN endgame then I would say that it's more focused on daily quests/tasks. You grind for equipment so you can get better equipment so you can do your dailies faster to get better equipment.

I have fun. It is doing a lot of the same things every day/week for a long time though, and the entry level for actually difficult content is pretty hard to reach, but a lot of it can be made up for by just not being shit.

It's like Vindictus that is 10x less soul crushing because you actually do make some progress every day and has less of a player mentality of "do this raid/daily in 5 minutes or bust" to keep you from doing anything.

You don't grind to do dailies faster, that depends more on class than anything else. You grind to eventually get as geared as you possibly can. It's a game for stat obsessers who want to hit for as big of numbers as possible (and they are big numbers).

You make it sound like you're loaded with daily choices. You run the 5 dungeons, do the various mission of the day to finish off a hero box and get your light cube, and then do faire/loffy in 10 minutes to finish the day.
