I don't like so many changes like this. I was late to the game and don't have much time to devote to it either, I felt like I was always playing catch up to other players, always behind the curve. Not to mention that so many players also played the original Titanfall, which I didn't. So just as I'm beginning to get a comfortable grasp on Titanfall 2, they add this update and I fall further behind, back to square one. Not to mention everybody getting tons of credits, advocate rewards and banners while I hardly got any. I like the game but this has taken some enjoyment out of it for me.

From my understanding they "fixed" the advocate system. They did not all just randomly get a bunch of advocate gifts. Also playing through the campaign on hard is a fantastic way to hone many of the essential skills necessary for multiplayer so you shouldn't worry too much about falling behind the curve.

you are not the only one, not even close. tf2 brought in tons of people new to the series. how could this patch put your progress back anyway? the only nerfs were nerfs to things that actually needed nerfs, the rest of the changes were weapon buffs. if anything that would help, unless you relied on crutches like the volt or tone.

How is the skill compartment in this game compared to shooters like Quake/L4D2PVP/Tribes/UT? From what I understood the robots are for casual arcade players and pilot fights are high movement/aim (although the TTK seems really low, even on modern FPS standards). I didn't play TF1 so if somebody who's actually decent at this game/FPS games minded giving some insight that'd be pretty neat. Tata.

Just finished the campaign (I've pretty much just been doing MP).

First off, the feels.

Secondly, I haven't played a game this well made in a long time. It's more surprising that it was a AAA game, and it's even MORE surprising that it was published by EA. Absolutely top notch. Did it dawn on anyone else that the little twist on mechanics for each level, could have been elaborated on into their own game? Fucking crazy. Like you could make an entire game based on the mechanic of switching between two points in time. You could make an entire game based around powering up the right switches. And so on.

its good because its purely cosmetic and has no effect on gameplay. there are plenty of camos you can grind out, and some youll probably never even get no matter how much you grind(shit like 25k pilot/titan assists).
if you can afford a $30/$60 game, you should be able to afford a $3 pack of cosmetics.

Tone is the easiest to win with

Try Ion if you want to have fun, laser shot is probably the most satisfying skill to use and she has a lot of outplay potential (particularly against Tones) with Vortex Shield. But you do have to put in a lot more effort to make her work well compared to many other titans.

The Smart Pistol is a good utility weapon in BHunt and Attrition, since it takes a lot of the guesswork out of taking out fodder (up to 24 ez mode instant kills). It has a good secondary use, too; shooting enemy pilots off of your team's titans (which is easier than shooting them off with a regular weapon, although using your own titan's melee attack is still the premier option for deleting rodeo-happy shitters both in mid-air and while attached to an allied titan), as well as occasionally making people very upset.

Seriously, you don't often get someone that gets genuinely mad over the Smart Pistol, but when you do, it's fucking beautiful.

I've played Legion a bit, and if I get attacked from two sides at once I am just a sitting duck.
Making trades with people in front of me then getting flanked and it's just over. I am big, fat and slow and by the time I get to cover I've lost half my health and the flanker is still on my ass, potentially finishing me off if I am alone.
I wouldn't say Legion is overpowered, somewhere around the middle. He has very big strengths as a frontline fighter, but weak to ambushes.

I play most exclusively Legion and since I started using Hidden Compartment he is approaching OP levels.

You can easily take down a Northstar and a Ronin with ranged power shot and the rest of the magazine. Hell, two power shots in the cockpit does about 2 health bars.

It's insane, I've gone from like ~5-6 Titan kills to ~8-9 now.

Anyone else here thinks that Vanguard Titan looks like shit ? Jaggy, the eye sticks out too much and it just looks cobbled together compared to the other Titans.

You know what they should've went with ? The old Atlas - it's smooth, still looks cool and has a way more expressive eye. Just change the story from being a new model to whatever his name was being an old veteran (which he already is) hence preferring an older Titan he fought in for so many years. And while the new Titans have their kits the old Titans had modularity and versatility explaining why he can pick up different weapons.

The Ordinance in this game is surprisingly varied in application.
Frag grenades are now one of the most high-skill weapons in the game.
Gravity stars have hidden use if you bend them just above cover and pull enemy pilots out of hiding
Electro grenades are my go to for pilot hunting for dat slow and blind.
Fire shuriken creates a great visual distraction to make use of more advanced scoping and tracking techniques.
Satchel is the king of set up
And electric smoke is great for flushing out areas and denying them
