You can skip it though, and use it later.

Although most killers don't do the drop, so most of the time it's the only chance survivors have to use DS. That's why it's so easy to get it to pop.

If you're trying to be a smart survivor, you don't use DS until your next hooking is your last, definitely shouldn't use it on your first pickup.

I'm not entirely sure what the system was but from what I gathered you had an infinite amount of time to just dangle there the first time you were hooked. If you got hooked again or if you failed the RNG check you'd be put into the struggle phase. Third hook I assume was still instant death.

Ironically the change was supposed to prevent killers from camping but really all it would do is just cause the killer to get one person then watch them like a fucking hawk.

The thing is that the game is heavily in the Killer's favor in regards to finding a survivor. After that comes the chase, which depending on what kind of survivor it is and which killer it is can be in either one's favor.

If a survivor doesn't use infinites or the cancer combo with pallet town, (read: plays the game right) the chase is in the killer's favor and the survivor has to do a decently hard outplay of sorts to escape. If they infinite and such then it's in their favor, mostly. You can still catch them depending on who you are but it WILL take way longer than it should so the others will be home free.

You're essentially saying "git gud" when the game is mostly against them in the first place. But the thing is, a killer can mess up multiple times per match and be fine. But more often than not (in my experience at least) if a survivor fucks up once they're fate is essentially sealed. Maybe not immediately and not even just because of the killer either. IT can be camping, it can be Bond people leading killers to injured people, and it can be "Altruistic" survivor who unhook while the killer is 2 feet away because they only care about the points.

Decisive Strike by far is the worst offender in this regard, as it near guarantees that if you DO fuck up, you can get away.

My biggest beef with the game is that it rewards playing like an asshat for survivors. I struggle to get 12-14K points with my stealth gameplay due to basically getting no bold points, and my altruis is usually pretty low due to previously mentioned people who just sprint up to hooks (while I'm trying to sneak up to them leaving no tracks) and unhook people uncaring of whether they get away or not.

Killer's on the other hand get punished for playing like a douche canoe. (provided survivors aren't retarded which is sometimes a longshot but still) which they SHOULD get punished.

They won't do it because too many people love being overpowered dickbags but they SHOULD remove teachables to make survivor choice actually mean something and get rid of the all claudette meta that "high ranks" do.

On this I 100% agree. The lack of role specialization (and consequent rewarding of playing more than others for non-learning reasons) is enormously bad for the game, but unfortunately due to the way they're doing dlc, unless piss crystals unlock killers/survivors and not their perks, they cant move away from this system without cries of pay to win (which, given the current status of decisive strike, would not be unreasonable).

Having more people does indeed increase the odds of someone getting caught, but as it stands there is very little that can be done to mitigate this problem. Closets are a terrible thing to hide in and circle strafing trees seems almost ridiculous. Problem is, any mechanics added that make hiding easier will most likely be broken as hell, given the dev's track record, so I have no idea how to resolve the problem.

I think that maybe one thing that might at least alleviate the issue is to reduce the number of pallets that can spawn on a map, if other things are changed. That way, players cant just outrun the killer while everyone else does gens, which as it stands is very possible to do without running out.

On the killer side of the spectrum though there are some things that could be done with being turned into generic perks and giving specific killers some new ones. Brutal strength is the biggest one I can think of off the top of my head.

Devs need to buff perks that aren't in the 'meta' or change them along with removing teachables. There's barely any variety in perk setups because 99% of the perks are garbage.

Like I've found Urban Evasion has been pretty good for me honestly since I sneak a lot. Balanced Landing I've been reconsidering because it's a smaller sprint burst that you can actually control when you use it (somewhat) unlike sprint burst where sometimes I'd like to run but don't want to waste my burst. I've just adjusted to what my perks are at the time. Just a couple examples.

But it's just easier to use all the OP (at least when they're combined) shit and be a shitbag. You get more points that way too! Win win.
