The main issue is bad ping, most Chinese don't even want to play on nost due to ping but there's no other options. When I visited for work it was around 300ish on old nost, I'm not sure how people play with that and pvp, so of course they will be farming and doing pve.

There are lots of scams. You wouldn't be banned for something like ninjalooting, but they would ban you for other things like COD mail stuff.
Really it would depend on who the mod was at the time, but based on nost historically, they often have banned people for small things.

make a rogue, and make an alt engineer. with the alt, craft tons of practice lockboxes. advertise your lockbox opening services and wait for people to come to you. on nostalrius you can't open lockboxes in the trade window - a person needs to trade the lockbox to the rogue. so they will give you their lockbox, and you open a practice lockpick. almost always a person will insist being in a group with you to see the loot you pull from the lockbox. when you open the practice lockbox you go through the animation, and they will hear the lockpicking sound. then you say "sorry buddy no loot inside this one". then open their actual lockbox when they leave the group.

nostalrius had plenty of empty lockboxes, so it will be believable when you tell them there was no loot. I would make 200-300g a week doing this before the server shut down.

and you want the alt to craft the practice lockboxes because you don't want your rogue to be seen crafting them. it's suspicious for a level 60 rogue to be crafting practice lockboxes. be sure to legit open a few every now and then, so people don't get wise.

You can find those on both factions.

DPS is best for casual raiding, but as a Hunter you'll struggle to find a group that wants you - whereas you'll pretty much always be welcome in raids as a priest.

It's possible but the talents that help a bunch barely anyone takes while leveling. At least not if they're following "leveling talent guide" type shit which most people seem to.
I'm not saying it hasn't been done, and shamans are actually really great tanks on spellcasters. But getting a warrior is always 100x better in nearly every situation, bear as well.

If you don't plan on healing then I would STRONGLY advice not playing priest, you have to be willing to heal atleast a bit for good gear (pre-16 debuffs shadow is really weak). Shadow spots are also fairly competitive so being on top of your game with consumables is a must.

That said, you need to be undead for horde if you plan to play spriest, there are no other options.
If you play alliance then dwarf is very good and human is good but requires gear for the racial to work well.
You can also function alright as an spriest in just crafted/5man gear


I've never played hunter in vanilla, so I can't really comment.

Both factions are full of shitters, if you want slightly better PvE play alliance and if you want better PvP play horde.

Horde also has 15+ min BG timers and alliance is instant but you face more premades.
Horde leveling is also easier but alliance get better pre-raid gear from quests later on, it's also easier to access raids for alliance.

So I might actually roll Alliance for the first time, and play the only Alliance race I like. But I always play resto Shaman (even level as resto), what class is closest to that healing Alliance side? I heard Priest is fun, might go Dwarf priest.

As mentioned these are snowflake specs, with ret being the closest allowed into raids. 5 mans would see higher acceptance of tank specs, while as balance is super memes, but full tryhard can be on par with the mid bracket dps'ers in raids. However will have to be carried though all 5-10mans, where as ret isn't far behind in there. As for PvP, ret/feral generally will have the easier time in both world and bgs. A very geared balance druid can pull memes of moonfire spam on lesser geared folks with joy, they will generally fall flat against same geared players, alongside protadins. Also prot brings more utility to a bg (from what I can see) than a feral does, while both would probably be more respected if they went heals.

Leveling, bm hunter tends to be the most mobile. Warlock would come next, then mage. However, out of the 3, mages have the most global mobility and highest self utility. Free ports, food/drink, mana potions (rubies), and high survival (as frost). So at cap I would say mages are the easiest to grind with, but leveling, nothing outpaces a bm hunter.

Asscandy has 2nd highest topend for 2h swords (technically 1st since no one is getting ashbringer). I also don't know if the server has BRE procs correct, as it could be fucked and never proc 3 times. OEB has good stats, but fuckall topend. I don't dis-include the aspects of pvp stats on the wep, but it's dmg is nothing to just give away. This means warriors that don't have it that are dps, will have prio on it. If none are present, then it's as you say, up for grabs. If it were something like zinrok, then sure, that's a 20m version of this basically which is less valuable and anyone can do as they like with it.

Yes, by a lot. With that wep, he can be fine as arms. And warriors as dps isn't a meme by any standards, unless it's 2h fury with fresh-ish 60 gear. When running raids, if you want to be serious about raiding and progress over a shorter time, then you give gear based on how much raid utility it will show, this being overall raid dps. They will out preform a pala with this weapon on a same gear level. Generally speaking though, rogues get a little more prio over warriors on other dps slot gear they share. Hunt / pala aren't going to utilize this as much as other classes are in a raid, fucking even in pvp.

What if you could create a the ultimate 40 man raid comp? Here's two theorycrafted comps.

Firstly, you must manage threat.

Rogues are amazing at this, because of [Vanish] which will completely reset threat, this allows the Rogue to deal damage unhindered. The Paladin will also be able to provide [Blessing of Salvation], if the Rogue amass too much threat. Because of this, Rogues can then be buffed by Paladins and Warriors to deal ever more damage than normal.

Mage's have a harder time managing threat, which is why [Blessing of Salvation] is used. Mages in this build will do an enourmous ammount of damage, since the Paladins will provide unlimited mana for the Mage.

The tank will be buffed as much as possible by the party members, to ensure that threat doesn't fall off to another member of the party. Paladins will use their [spiky shields] to maximise the Tank's threat.

Secondly, the buffs.

The Melee build will have a 1 [Sunder Armor] and 1 [Feaie Fire] to reduce the ammount of Armor of the bosses a much as possible so the Rogues will do peak damage. The remaining debuff slots will be used for Seal of Light, to passivley heal the raid.

The Rogues will have increased attack damage from [Blessing of Might] and [Battle Shout]. They can ask for [Blessing of Salvation] if Threat get's too high.

The Mage stack is has 3 debuffs taken up. 1 from [Sunder Armor], 1 from [Curse of Elements], and 1 from [Frostbolt]. The remaining 5 will be used for [Seal of Wisdom], which will ensure the mages never go out of mana. The raid will start with every mage buffed by [Blessing of Kings], to increase the mana-pool by 10%, after a few seconds, the paladins will shift to [Blessing of Salvation].

Surviability:

The Melee raid will have the benefit of [Seal of Light], which will heal the players from each attack. It will long term lift a healing burden from the raid, but does poorly against burst damage.

The Mage group on the other hand, has the benefit of mage barriers.

Honestly thought the lock trink was insta cast no mana-shard void. Could be applicable in wpvp for insta free recasting a void for another sacc. Rechecking the item, and it's only free mana-shard cast with a fucking 30 minute 30 MINUTE cooldown. Can't even equip it in combat lmao, what a piece of shit.
