Yeah, except if you actually applied any logic to the changes you would comprehend how the opposite is true.

We got our baseline crit nerfed.
Pyretic Incantation got nerfed by more than half, and thats a CORE mechanic.
Fire blast got nerfed.

Basically, the entire concept of the spec got shit on. All the changes did is make crit more important, not less.

TL;DR you don't know how a fire mage operates, and why the spec got messed with even more than it was already. EVERYONE is going arcane.

They're not actually good buffs since no one uses those talents that much but I'm still happy they gave us attention. They're making you choose to be less shit at multi-target at the cost of single target damage.

Choosing SOTF instead of Incarnation is a tough choice in mythics+. Trash packs or bosses. Choice depends on dungeon I guess.
Stellar Drift might be better now for those with Oneth's Intuition but I'll wait for the number crunchers.
Stellar Flare is in the same case as Stellar Drift. Better with Oneth's Intuition.

The buffs seem really good if you have oneth's intution. For most moonkins, it won't change much. Unless you can change talents mid-dungeon. Fuck, they really have to let us change talents mid-dungeon.

It sounds like something odd happened because it just drops the threat mod to 2x and only the dh sustained that over the tank. Probably just peak dps burst is vastly higher than tank burst at the start.

Sure is great how only hunters, mages, and rogues kept their threat management tools though.

Looking at it, I'm starting to become a little bit happy with the changes. They're trying to make Starfall an alternative as a spender for moonkins even in 2+ target situations while making it not complete shit in single target. Right now, starfall is better only at 3+ and only if the mobs live long enough for dots and starfall duration. With the changes to Warrior of Elune/SOTF/Stellar Drift, they're giving us another option.

Both Starsurge and Starfall are now at 40 AP cost if we take SOTF. Starsurge has better talents backing it like Goldrinn's fury and the added crit but it's at 450% spellpower. Starfall with the new SOTF and Stellar Drift is 40 ap cost for 633.6% spell power while giving us the ability to move within it. The mobility alone would be great in a lot of fights and at 2+ targets, the added spellpower puts it ahead.

If we go SOTF/Stellar Drift, we won't get Lunar and Solar empowerments if we use Starfall as a spender. We do get Stellar Empowerment as compensation. And all these changes only becomes better with Oneth's intution.

So I think these are viable changes depending largely on fights. If the fights have more than 1 target for the most part and require movement, Starfall build is looking better.

In ST though, ED with starsurge + goldrinn's fury is way too big a gap to close even with the ability to cast while moving. Especially since they buffed the tier piece to boost starsurge. The buff to tier will actually increase the gap between ED users and non-ED users. Fucking Blizz.

But your statement is semi-true. You start making damage at a decent itemlvl, before all you do is drsgging down the entire group. Tough it's how MH scales up the dots on long VFs (i.e. S2M) that makes the HUGE difference. Not crit or haste in particular.

Haste at a breakpoint and then crit is what allows you to roll VF into higher stacks. S2M with better gear = higher and higher uptime on 100 stack S2M. You will of course break when the drain hits 100/s, so at around 130s if you play your dispersions right, but with high crit and haste it's infinitely easier to get to use 3 Torrents and in ultra-rare situations even 4. And between high baseline crit, the VF stacks above 50, MH and your baseline haste you will only snowball harder and harder with every % of crit and mastery you get.
They also managed to reintroduce stat breakpoints, too.
They literally don't know what to do with the spec and how to handle their S2M. A revamp is needed desperately, either removal of the talent or making it baseline.

Sub aoe is 'ok' and it's getting buffed in 7.1.5 so that the dragon trait also aoe explodes any time you shuriken storm or shadow strike.

Combat's aoe is definitely better, but it's not like you can't sink the 20 traits easily to get the starter set for combat just for aoe or mythics that really demand it.

I just find sub to be more fun than the others.

Arms would be good if you weren't forced to take focused rage, but talent design is as poor as ever.

Even with it, it's still ok and I enjoyed it enough to farm legendaries for it. It's just fatiguing since you double up on apms to spam an off gcd ability on cooldown, rage permitting and you can't trait out because the other options are abysmal.

Nerfing Mass Hysteria serves no purpose if the priest can't consistently roll over 50-60 stacks.
If S2M is to be removed, then the class will have to be compensated by heavy base damage buffs or returning some kind of interaction. Making Void Ray baseline. Maybe making the effect of the legendary shoulders into a talent or even a baseline effect unless they actually stick with Lingering Insanity removal. Something like that or more.
There is a LOT of fixing to be made to somehow make up for removal of S2M, and they can't do it without making SPriest into snowball - the spec. Currently shadow priests are reaching late expansion (see WotLK, TBC, Vanilla even) Warrior tier levels of retarded, and we're only somewhere around halfway in.

In TBC shadows only were good with shadowcloth thingy set at the very beginning.
Shadows always scaled like shit. It was ok bc of the mana-battery role we had.
Didn't raid as shadow in classic so i can't comment on that, i healed as shadow.
WotLK was superb, finally felt like a true DD, because crit made sense. In cata shadows felt ok with decent gear and not running OOM every mob grp. MoP was.. I dunno MoP itself was shit and i stopped playing Wow during it's end and didn't feel like returning until recently.
Now SPs just feel messed up.

I rolled an ele shaman for safety reasons, but i still don't like faceroll classes.

I just want to be competitive without fucking S2M, which is not the case.

On a side note, i just noticed that both haste and crit stats got fucked up on PTR, i have the same gear and lost percentages to both.

I just want to play an interesting DD, not something completely broken by design.

TBC shadow's role was to debuff the target for the actual shadow artillery and feed mana to healers or sheepcucks.
In WotLK they were allowed to become more of a full fledged DPS, and that's how they were since then.
In vanilla Shadow was meh, scaled like shit and ran oom.

The problem right now is that no matter what, removing S2M means they will have to somehow find ~100k DPS in their kit. Can they do that without the spec remaining a monster with optimised gear and high gear levels? No they can't. Like they can't unfuck Rets out of abusing Crusade or like they can't make Warlocks not play like garbage.
It's because their design philosophy regarding most classes is flawed and instead of fixing it they're doubling and tripling down on awful decisions.
