Keys are objectively funner than relics. Obviously people play games for fun , but there are different metrics of fun. Keys provided some semblance of an endgame, with good rewards. That's funner then Relics.

This is the thing that kills it for me & why im not even bothering to log on anymore unless there's an update. The void felt special because it looked interesting (was my fav tile set) and it was really challenging when you were doing endless. That challenge made it feel that much better when you overcame the ridiculous scaling of the enemies and won that prime part you wanted. The relic system is bad because all the challenge is gone & the way you farm for things just feels worse. Now the grind has 3 layers: traces, relics, & actually getting the part from the relic. With keys you just grabbed one (or found some1 else who was hosting) and started playing to get it. Plus there's that awful feeling when you farmed all those traces & the relic, then spent time getting 3 other people together all for it to not drop.
