This was the most fun I've had playing fighting games since my locals died. When was the last time you guys just had fun playing fighting games?

Also I wish DoA wasn't so dead, I had so much fun playing it, it reminded me why I own literally every version of it.

When I was like 10 years old, I went to a roller rink with a friend and they had a single arcade game. It was Super Turbo and we only played like one game or something. But it was fun.

I just cant enjoy myself when I play online. The wins feel like they were deserved and not earned and the losses always feel humiliating. Playing with people you know is infinitely better than playing online.

There is only one model of RAP4 Kai, which is newer than the RAP4. The kai has a bit more lag than the older non Kai stick.

The RAP4 and the Kai both work on PC but don't work with SFV unless you use xpadder/joy2key because they are dinput peripherals and sfv only works with xinput peripherals.

I think there is an underspoken issue with Nash.

He has too many links. If you see his movelist, he's built around fast target combos which either can be special cancelled (Rapid Punch), or used as mix-up potential (Wind Shear and Raptor Combination). Despite that, he also has many links that are part of his main gameplan. He lacks of consistency in the way he's been balanced.

What's goin on, guys, this is Peter "Combofiend" Rosas here to give you the scoop on what changes you can expect from the Master of the Fist himself, Akuma in Street Fighter V™.

In previous iterations, Akuma had a serious problem where he had both a wide variety of excellent options in various situations along with a very high damage output. So in order to not deter casuals and newcomers, we found a few ways to circumvent how "cheap" this character can be for a fun, rewarding play experience. Let's check it out:

>Can't use EX, like in 3
>850 Health
>Can't Kara Demon anymore
>Only 3 frame normal is c.lk, +3 on hit, can't be special cancelled
>Shakunetsu Hadoken is removed
>Teleport is now his V-Reversal, can't cancel it
>Demon Flip Throw always whiffs on crouching
>Air Fireball has 30 frames of recovery on landing
>All Tatsus whiff on crouching
>Light Tatsu can no longer be followed up with a DP or a reset
>V-Skill is a Focus Attack that can only be dash cancelled on hit
>V-Trigger is Oni mode, V-Gauge constantly depleting
>Hitting V-Trigger buttons during Oni mode is the crossup slash when grounded and air dash when jumping that depletes 33% V-Gauge per use
>Critical Art is Misogi
>Raging Demon is only available with full meter and V-Gauge, using it depletes both

I think I'm starting to finally revaluate and see what makes SFV good, but I can understand people who were getting frustrated by it. The devs didn't make a proper job at explaining what they wanted to convey with the game.

Lots of people (including myself) want a fighting game to be very expressive. Expressiveness comes with the way a player exposes the game's true color and starts to bring in the new, the flashy.

SFV isn't exactly a flashy game, probably it's the less flashy mainline SF game since Vanilla SFII. What people were expecting is an explosive fighting game with over-the-top mechanics and over-the-top gameplay. Maybe they were driven by the hype from the original alpha build they've shown back when they announced the game, which showed a pretty over-the-top yet-to-be-called V-Trigger (at least compared to the current V-Trigger mode), which gave characters crazy tools like instant guard breaks or multiple repeating specials.

Then the statement that fucked things up even more came out. "SFV is a coming back to the series fundamentals!". Of course people were thinking of SF2 kind of fundamentals, which is still kind of true but now in the way people thought. SFV isn't exactly SFII. There could've been much better wording to convey what they were trying to do with SFV.

What they meant with "back to fundamentals" is not a major focus on footsies, nor a better focus on neutral. What they meant is much simpler than that, and for getting what they were trying to convey you have to look back at SFIV.

SFIV became over its lifespan a deconstruction of itself. Very long combos, invincible backdashes, Focus Attacks and the FADC. These mechanics weren't bad at all, but they became something that isn't really the general idea of SF. SFV is a "coming back" in this sense, to simpler bnbs and gameplan, less mechanic-centered.

It's also not very spectator-friendly, unless many other fighting games.
