Gave this a shot and holy shit, it's eraqueen but better. I don't really understand the strategy portion yet, but the level of flexibility and the active/passive + targeted actions system is amazing. You can be a male saniwa, female, otoko no ko, a sword, so on and so forth. You into hard femdom? You can do it. Tender loving more your thing? You can do that too, take those fuckers out to dates in the flower field. Want multiple dudes at once? You can have up to eight! Bestiality grosses you out? You can turn that shit right off. Want something as crazy as a dominant Kashuu? By god, you have that too. I'm excited to play more and see what else there is.

Seeing as we're dead as usual, I might as well explain the active/passive + targeted actions system.
First you choose who the action is directed at, then you choose which actor is in charge of the action.

For example, if the action is directed at Shokudaikiri but the Saniwa is in control of the action it would be "Saniwa to Shokudaikiri - touch"
If the action is directed at the Saniwa and they are in charge of the action, it becomes "Saniwa orders Shokudaikiri - touch Saniwa"
If the action is directed at Shokudaikiri and Shokudaikiri is in control of the action, it becomes "Saniwa acting on Shokudaikiri's orders - touch Shokudaikiri"
If the action is directed at the Saniwa and Shokudaikiri is in control of the action, it becomes "Saniwa asks Shokudaikiri to be touched"

This system applies to almost every action in the game, leading to a lot of flexibility.
In addition, there are also one-time and continuous versions of the same action, so certain actions can be passively performed while doing a variety of different commands.
It's a lot of fun.

You're doing exactly what you're supposed to, these are the sorts of games you learn best just by doing. Text based games can be really overwhelming with all their options at first, but once you get a feel for what everything does it starts to make sense. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and just mess around on your first playthrough to learn what all the actions do. You might accidentally kick a guy in the balls before you understand everything, that's fine. If you're really lost, I recommend starting slow with befriending the swords before trying for lewd. This game also has random buttons (the row with 48[流れ次第] 49[意のまま] 50[問い従う] 51[誘いかけ] 52[身を任す]) so you can try leaving some things up to the game. I don't understand the strategy component, so I'm just leaving that up to the game for now too. If you don't understand a certain word, you can always open the log and copy paste that bad boy into a dictionary. I was surprised that google translate has really upped its game on porn terms. Oh, and just to make sure, you absolutely need the two updates in the thread. They add extra UI elements, among other things.

For anyone else who might be interested but has never tried an eramaker game before, the password is era. It's the same for every eramaker game. Have fun.

Maybe next playthrough, I'll turn the rival saniwas on and see how that changes things.

Yeah. It's just Rai's route in his POV. There's some nice things in there if you like him and consider it reliable official material.

It's full of inner-monologue that spoonfeeds how much he cares about Konoe, and shows clearly that he's a good person with a shitty upbringing that got caught up in the wrong crowd. eg. right from the beginning he didn't take Konoe to his regular inn because its full of scumbags and he was concerned about what'd happen to him. The epilogue is entirely different from the game's. Also I found it slightly amusing that he was some kind of asexual before Konoe's furry little boypussy changed him.

His feelings in-game were obvious if you pay attention to his actions instead of words, but I'd consider it required reading for someone who needs to be spoonfed that kind of thing, which seems to include a lot of EOP Lamento fans for some reason.

On another note, has anyone here listened to Haruto's CD yet? It's been quite a while since I last enjoyed a drama CD this much. The bad end track was so fucked up, while the happy end was pure bliss. I sort of regret getting the Animate tokuten instead of the Stellaworth one. Hoping for a third CD for this series, with that third yandere who was briefly mentioned.

Though for Kohaku my favorite scene was when he fully regained his memories, and while the Darius scene chosen was memorable I also never skipped the scene in the common route where he says good-bye to Azusa as she is being summoned away. Then there's the (re-)confession scene in his room, or the scene where he teleports them on top of Tokyo Station. Heh, the video used looks so scary out of context.

you're not really missing too much. unless you actually like stuff that tries to present itself as deep then pulls stuff like "lmao it was all just a dream!" at the end.

the biggest thing pulling in moon fans is the setting. a lot of the fanartists I follow have been drawing art for it because they like the aesthetic, but I noticed they don't really have any favorite characters or pairings or anything which is unusual. they also go back to other games after a while.

one of my biggest gripes is how it loves to reference literature but doesn't do anything neat with its references. also it stops being interesting after the first route you play.

I think people hype it because it's a presentable doujin game.

well, it's not so bad that I'd tell people not to read it, but I wouldn't rush people into it or otherwise hype it either. for me it's one of those games that I read, had some fun in the first route, then forgot about it after I finished. there was no emotional investment.

if I were to recommend a doujin game like it, I'd recommend Akaya Akashiya Ayakashino even though it's not really BL.

I'd say pick it up if you're really into the time period, but even then there's alternatives that do a better job in that area.
