The Pudge was just an extreme example, lots of times the enemy is 15-20 kills ahead and is still passively farming both jungles and rosh while your team isn't allowed to step out of base without dying, and they just won't push.


It's a shame there's literally no way to counter this except playing in a 5 stack all the time. Peruvians are constant game losers and Valve doesn't care because they know not to play this game.

That's not how this works. You buy whatever you need to fix the inherent weakness of your hero or what makes it OP. For Reaper's Scythe to do anything, you need to have the enemy at low hp. Necro does not deal any click damage on his own and it would take solid 20 seconds of fights to get a late game enemy low enough with constant Pulse spam to do anything. You want to remove one target right away to ensure that Sadist regen kicks in immediately and not after the fight. Necro needs burst to enable the burst in his ulti, so buying Dagon is by no means bad. With Sniper you can buy DPS items and shit on people, Necro is awful as a clicker and all he really can do is either build tanky or get burst and only burst ensures that someone will actually die.

In order to fight with storm spirit, you need to constantly manage both positioning and mana while executing his combo. You also have to guess where people move to when they leave vision because ball lightning can't turn and you waste a ton of mana if you do multiple jumps.

Brood War was a low skill game. The only difficulty was to manage groups of units to move more efficiently than your rival since group pathing was broken crap. The only people that bothered getting good at the game were koreans, exactly; the same country that only plays low skill games like LoL, Overwatch and mobile crap. To be fair, they finally removed the autism that is IV grinding. EVs can be effortlessly set up with Super Training now, so really the only thing that's inherent to a Pokemon is ability and nature (also Pokeball if you're autistic, but that's entirely cosmetic).

It's still not a competitive game when moves are balanced around their random chance of doing nothing (i.e. missing), but at least making a "competitive" team doesn't require crippling autism now.
