Pretty much. The line between completely destroying your enemy and seeing the Game Over screen is often a single mistake.

Someday when my backlog is lesser I'll have to go back and NG+ on Lethal difficulty. Or maybe stick to Hard and try to kill more of the optional bosses than I did on my first run. Great game, definitely one of my favorite SRPGs despite its flaws.

Gundari is relatively easy on Survival Mode if you've built your heat through the whole thing. Mirei can take her down in two Second level Drive breaks like that for example.

Yeah, the fact that I botched one of my level 3 breaks as Viola probably didn't help (I used her to clear the other Survival modes since her first triangle combo on Final Drive made clearing standard waves easy).

I may retry it with either Koharu or Mirei at some point but I'm still mad at all the other times it crashed before I could even attempt Final Gundari.

Not the worst card battle game in the world, but you could probably do better with 4 dollars.

Really strategy boils down to fusing and putting healers behind melee but there are some more complex game play elements, though you don't really need to use them.
